How would your dad react if you brought home a black girl?
 

I'm white and mean no disrespect to anyone with this post but this issue has recently come up and I wanted to know how the rest of the world feals.

I'm modern enough to accept cross race relations but my father would chuck an absolute fit.

It's not only for blacks but for asians, indians, mediteranians, eskimos and latinas too.

i odn't think he would say anything.

When the LA riots started, the first thing my dad said was "Those damn blacks are at it again!"

I never bought up the subject of bringing home a black woman :winkwink:

it depends, he wouldn't be too happy about it...
my cousin is engaged to a black guy, and when he found out, he got so pissed..
but if I brought a black girl home and he started to bitch and moan.... :321GFY

Knowing this why would you want to bring her to your dad's home?

My first wife when I was in my very early 20's was from Mazatlan Mexico. She had that gorgeous Latin look. Her father was CEO of a big shrimp processing company, her brother was a Doctor, so she came from a really nice family, so I figured my parents would be ok with everything.

But when I told them we were engaged they flipped out over it. We didn't talk for many months.

He'd say "out slummin eh? - get it outta ya system early"

My father has met my black gf (I say it that way because I have a white gf too :Graucho) and he thought she was great. My mother isn't that thrilled, but because of the multiple lovers/gayness, not the race issue. She keeps telling me she's praying for me.

think of the children, they'll grow up having all kind of problems, atleast thats what they say in the talk shows

No mather the colour, if the girl i bring home is for myself he would feel jaleous, if the girl is for him he would be so happy.

My Dad wouldn't bat an eyelash. He simply wouldn't care, and probably wouldn't for a moment think it was unusual.

(On an interesting side note, the one person I have known who looked most my like father was the only black professor at the first college I went to.)

My mother would be cool with it, but think a lot about how her family would react. (That side of my family is huge and close-knit.) I think they would not react too negatively, but not nice either. Most of them are racist enough that without meaning to, they don't respect blacks, but they don't hate them really.

... I hope she is not a muslim too, your dad would go ballistic !!

My dad was really cool about it. But I know he would think differently if my sister would bring home a black guy!

if anyone in my family had any issues with it they could just keep it to themselves or get my backlash. My love life is a matter for me and the others involved.

My father would blow a gasket....he's probably think I was joking. Then he'd beat the snot out of me....

I don't think my parents would mind me being involved into relations with any guy of other race and stuff all that really matters to both - me and them - is the person himself... not what blood runs through his veins ;)

Bringing home means introducing to the parents.

My girlfriend is Canadian born from a dutch mother and her father is from Gabon (africa)

why would there be a reaction to race?

My Father was a racist and a bigot. He hated Negros, Jews and the Irish. He made Archy Bunker look like a moderate.

The funny thing was at the end of his life his best friend was a Negro neighbor. The guy came to his funeral and openly wept at Dads passing. He thought he was just a guy brought up in a different world with different values.

If I had brought home a black girl he would have gone crazy, but he expected it from me.

My dad would ask if her mother is single.

I'm a female so if I brought a girl home I think my mother would disown me. She's not very modern. But my father on the other hand would be the total opposite. He's into women PERIOD !
Doesn't matter if she's Inuit,Latin,cuban,asian etc...LOL He's adores them all.

He's a dirty old pervert but we love him :) LOL
