I was in no way attempting to diminish or minimize the size of Rat's existing income or his accomplishments within the scope of his own efforts. My only point stemmed from his comments made on that old thread about wishing he had such an army of newbs pushing sites.

One only need look at any of the mega huge paysite networks to see that it is largely because of their AFFILIATE programs that they are able to claim such income levels. It is a fact.

So...

I made my "newbie" post to rat to point out that even though he might make 2 million a year.... with such an affiliate program in place that could easily double or triple.


Rat may be correct though... the headaches of running such a program may outweigh the overall gain, at least for him. I will concede that much.

Your argument is based partially on a fallacy. Companies that depend on the affiliate model have to appear big: large networks of sites, fancy parties, flashy program sites, etc. Companies that don't depend on affiliates tend to keep their heads down and their names out of the boards.
