Hilarious. The network is flapping up and down. This is identical to the previous outages which attributed to a hacker attack. Fortunately, we are aware of the problem.

Our network engineers are working on fixing the issue and we are collecting limited logs which we were unable to collect last time. For further questions, you can refer to our corporate office (718-421-7835).

cafeaulait 01-16-2003 11:05 AM

Wahey check out my sig, guess who its hosted by?!?!?

(This post is only relevant for the duration of the LikeWhoa downtime, outside of this its probably considered SPAM, but as its more likely to be down than up - I'll take the chance :winkwink: )

I'm not sure what you are referring to or who you have spoken to, but you are welcome to contact me either by e-mail ([email protected]) or at the office (718-421-7835). I would be happy to look into any outstanding matters you have with Like Whoa.

Nick, is it feasable someone has a business interest in attacking you? What are you guys doing to put an end to this, can you work with the fbi etc. on the matter?

I'm glad I signed up with them yesterday, haven't moved all yet from my 2 current hosts

cafeaulait 01-16-2003 11:12 AM

Its not just the hosted suckers like me who get fucked its every single one of the All Liquid program webmasters who get fucked as well - sending traffic to dead sites.

Good advice btw "email me at [email protected]" when your network is down .

RedShoe 01-16-2003 11:13 AM

I was out of line.

What is being attacked?

Your Routers?

Tukhman 01-16-2003 11:14 AM

pr0,
Good question. Network outages that we have experienced in December attributed to a hacker atttack and we were not aware of it until last minute. During those network outages we had numerous solutions including purchasing of additional hardware (which we thought was the first cause), we later moved to allocate more bandwidth and spread the load.

It later turned out that it was not our interface being attacked, but one of our bandwidth providers. They have withheld this information from us and since then we terminated our relationship.

At that time, we were unable to collect the logs, this time we took necessary precautions. We will obviously pursue those responsible once we analyze all the information.

There are numerous things we are working on implementing but are limited in terms of time, so an immediate full time resolution was not implemented as of yet.

...Nick

Tukhman 01-16-2003 11:20 AM

cafeaulait,
You are correct, when the network is down my e-mail will not work. I did provide other methods of contact.

RedShoe,
I have personally dealt with your account when you started hosting at Like Whoa. Unlike other customers, your dealings with me were always very professional. I don't think it's right to accuse us of improperly billing you considering the fact that you have never approached me about this issue. You did however speak to me numerous times and did not have problems reaching me when you needed things done for your account.

As far as free customers, I will not go into explaining our strategy or reasons for providing complimentary hosting services. I assure you however that it is fixed in our business plan.

picindex,
This is a BGP attack on one of our routers which is causing significant CPU overload throughout the whole network.

Nick,

Which provider was that?

Been there, done that nick. I've sent multiple emails to the address I was given. Left you a message yesterday and one today. In fact I just called there 10 minutes ago and was told that you're out of the office for the afternoon. But...you're here posting, how's that? I've sent you an email, and would appreciate a response today. Thanks :)

Rich 01-16-2003 11:25 AM

Like Whoa doesn't suck, you guys are just "haters". Anyone who complains when there server goes down is a moron, and Boneprone is taking note. :1orglaugh

I love it, Tukhman signature isn't loading.

Tukhman 01-16-2003 11:25 AM

Ryan,
If it was relevant to release this information to GFY I would. I say we stick to a topic at hand.

Theo 01-16-2003 11:26 AM

ok now works :)

I try not to bash anyone or any program on the boards

but I'm not happy at all with my like whoa service right now
my sites were down for about 10 hours on Tuesday.

And my sites are down right now, I fear that it will be another 10 hour downtime like tuesday.

I can't support, and stay a with a hosting company that hurts my business.

I'm trying to give like whoa the benefit of the doubt..

but I've already lost $175 in revenue due to the last down time..
not to mention having galleries rejected, and almost causing me to lose some very valuable partner submitting accounts at elite TGP's and MGP's.

I have hosting companie's hitting my on icq left and right ready to take me away from like whoa. I'm trying to stick with you guys and show some loyalty.

But nobody has even said, hey since you were down Tuesday were gonna cut X% from your bill or anything like that..

I hope that this latest downtime is a short downtime

Tukhman 01-16-2003 11:33 AM

Platinum,
This is actually the first network outage this month. If you did experience downtime it was solely related to either your account or a specific machine.

We do provide credits to our customers per SLA (please contact billing to request a form). However, if the outage is not Like Whoa's fault it is not covered by compensation.

I appreciate your support and do want to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to prevent these outages from happening. Just like any other hosting company we are unable to forsee attacks on our network, but only work to prevent it.

Tukhman 01-16-2003 11:34 AM

candyflip,
I will contact you shortly.

How is downtime on your network not your fault?

FreeHugeMovies 01-16-2003 11:43 AM

Everyone has problems now and then. Just relax and I am sure they will get everything back up and running.

Nick, I was out of line. I apologize. I was angry. You indeed have always been very professional with me. I was referring to someone from accounting. They dealt with the problem, but did not fix it.

I am happy with the hosting... when it's up. There has been much too much contraversy over the past few months, and it worries me, that's all.

Again, you have always been up front with me, and I appreciate that. You mentioned that you wanted to help me, but I think this is an accounting matter, (that's what you hired them for).

Again, I apologize. I don't like to board bash.

Are you fucking kidding me? If I was down for 10 hours in a month I'd expect at least 2-3 months free, if it was 10 hours at once they'd have to give me probably 6 months free to keep from moving. That's totally unacceptable, don't accept their Like Excuses.

Bobo 01-16-2003 03:50 PM

Is it still flapping or just me? Comes up but slow some of the time.
