Wireless ELECTRICITY Video Demonstration (vid)
i knew it was possible :)
was only a matter of time :pimp http://blog.ted.com/2009/08/wireless_electr.php http://ted.com/images/ted_logo.gif |

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
that is impressing
They should build the roads out of that material like the mat in the garage he spoke of. All electric cars could charge while they drove.
the coolest thing was he walked in the middle of the power exchange and was unharmed :)
Only a matter of time? Tesla started that in 1893!!! That guy was brilliant, how's that for ahead of the game?

pretty cool, but im still waiting for a cell phone company to put in a kenotic energy battery
and watch cancer rates skyrocket

Seriously cool. The fact that it's more than just talking about it but something viable that he showed working with a flatscreen, and Iphone etc is seriously badass... There is a huge market for just the little bit he showed and I want to know where to buy stock.
That'll be great for homes if they can really actually do it.
Wireless electricity. I'm open minded but god damn it, wireless electricity? That's like diamond water.. at least in my mind. If they think they're going to make the power grids wireless, fucking forget about that!! But it'd be so nice to have wireless electricity in the home.. |
What would be really cool is to take the idea and apply it toward the earths own magnetic field. create a way to do what they are doing only from the natural field we all live in.... "free" power everywhere.

But energy can't be free Because if it's free We'll make too much heat and die I think I watched the video and it all makes perfect sense.. Couldn't they just make devices that resonate at the same frequency of earths magnetic field for the free power thing? I didn't even know or care that magnetic fields had resonance a minute ago so I'm probably wrong |
tesla is my favorite psychotic inventor!
At the last E3 they had a few things powered with this technology

Nikola Tesla had a similar idea but he died before it got any traction...
I think MrMaxwell is right. There's no way they'd give it for free... BUT.. once in the home, some nice new segment of contractors could come retrofit. Just like they do with radiant floor heating and other improvements to old homes.
The sheer gadget geekness of it makes it a hit. 1.21 gigawatts! |
I love living in the future. Now where the hell is my flying car?
Damn thats pretty neat!
How far will this be allowed to go??? I do recall seeing someone post a video of a guy that ignited Salt water with a resonance machine.. Never heard 0f that again.

Its can be descriped as puting a electic fan in front of a windmill. It works, but it there is no energy gained |
Hey, that's been around since the beginning of time. It's called "Lightning"
lol Just kidding. That is a pretty cool vid on the subject. Lots of cool things are going to come out of that technology. |

Cool thanks for the link
I love that site. TED has some of the most awesome cutting edge stuff going on. As for wireless electricity, Tesla must be high-fiving in his grave and giving Edison the finger.
:sleep :sleep

This would really revolutionize electricity in rural areas and the 3rd world if the technology advances to the point of long distance distribution. Just the battery savings alone makes it worth pursuing...
50% efficiency... awesome! Now our power bills double!

was already shown over a year ago, isnt it the same as the electric toothbrush ( the principal ? )
maybe if they...

So as well as robbing your neighbours wifi you can now steal his witricity too? :D
Thats pretty fucking cool!
pretty cool!
