I remember him for how he won his citizenship case, had his birthday, and how his wife had his first baby boy all on the same day. Oh and his music. And round glasses.

I only remember the man and his music. The fact that some fanatic wanted to steal his fame by killing him senselessly for no reason... I rent no space in my soul for him.

I remember hearing the news when it happened. I was watching MNF with my Father and it was announced. At the time I think I was more stunned by my Mothers emotional reaction than the actual event.

You have no idea how his music and fearless words changed the world in the 60's and 70's and even today. He stood up against everything and led a nation and tried to lead the world to PEACE. When was the last time anyone has tried and succeeded in changing the world? John Lennon rocked.

John Lennons words changed the world in so many ways. He was a great artist and lived in a very important time in America and the world. His thoughts will be remembered forever in his songs. RIP John.:(

there are millions of bands in the world and millions of songs but its funny how people talk about how they remember the first time they heard the beatles. That is want makes John, Paul, George, and Ringo so important and why this tragic loss 28 years ago is still a day people will never forget.

for me I was five it I was with my Dad in his work truck and "here comes the sun" came on the radio and I remember that as the first moment I felt passionate about anything and that was music and all I did for the next days and weeks was bug my parents everyday to buy me more and more albums.

He was obviously a good musician but he helped promote and provided moral support to ideologies which murdered millions of people.

Guess you must be a youngster because I remember him for his music and when I hear about him I never go, "That guy that got shot?"

I challenge you to show me a musician/group today that will leave a mark on the history of modern music. Sad thing is you wont because it is pretty much all a rehashed, cookie cutter, corporate driven monstrosity that is lacking in originality and meaning. There are some exceptions out there but will never reach the levels of The Beatles.
