First attempt at nature photography

So I have been doing fetish and music photography for a few years, but this week I have started playing at nature pictures. Here's my first attempts. Any good?

I am not a good 'critic', but what I see looks good.

Spunky 05-19-2008 01:19 PM

Looks pretty good to me..good eye

gotekix 05-19-2008 01:37 PM

I like them. The third one seems a little out of focus though.

Dailydiapers 05-19-2008 01:40 PM

Yeah, that one didn't come out perfect, but I just liked it. No clue who the bride is, just a lucky shot :)

on a serious bizness note. the flower pic would look pretty nice sharpened a bit and with the colors brought up a little. would make a nice wallpaper.

Scott McD 05-19-2008 01:59 PM

Not bad at all...

AaronM 05-19-2008 02:09 PM

I like the first pic the best. :2 cents:

viencarl 05-20-2008 02:49 AM

nice pics

Iron Fist 05-20-2008 03:10 AM

I think if you had the flower as the focus item without another flower in the background, it would be more powerful... good shots though.

halfpint 05-20-2008 03:12 AM

Nice pics..the first one is real nice

IntenseJerry 05-20-2008 04:08 AM

Yeah I can fix that... the botanical gardens gets pissy when you start clipping off flowers to make your pics look better :)

rayadp05 05-20-2008 07:56 AM

I like the first two pics.

Xrated J 05-20-2008 08:00 AM

they looks nice! :winkwink:

_Richard_ 05-20-2008 09:24 AM

That last pic is a good one

SilentKnight 05-20-2008 09:33 AM

Good composition in the first pic, although I'd have shifted a bit to the right to eliminate the big vertical cactus that's outta focus. Perhaps crop it out.

Dailydiapers 05-20-2008 10:46 AM

There was a doorway to the right so that was my best option, cropping should work.

aztecboi2003 05-20-2008 11:09 AM

I like the first two photos

Kudles 05-20-2008 11:20 AM

I'd say those are NICE shots :)

Ashley023 05-21-2008 05:32 AM

Nice shots :)
The first Mexican-style picture reminds me a permanently moving-rolling plant of deserts called tumbleweed. Just like in a western movie:

firecracker 05-21-2008 01:37 PM

What do you think?

I actually use a couple for screen savers. I got proud because she takes pictures better then me on the same camera. LOL

Much improved :thumbsup

Deej 05-30-2008 11:13 PM

i like the 1st - I would have captured a little more of the top of the wheel. (unless there was a disturbance up there)

just to have it finish out part of the top right side... just seems, unfinished...

it would place the points of interest a little more...

ask aaron about the ... 3 point rule is it? something like that...

anyway...

the turtle rock pic i dig too, up the contrast a little... it will enhance it a bunch... possible even the saturation..

this is just what i would do :P

youre on the road to some good work though for sure...

what are you shooting?

Dailydiapers 05-31-2008 04:08 PM

I'm using an Olympus Evolt e-500 with a 40-150mm lens (80-300 equiv) I know many prefer Nikons but I think Zukio/Olympus has some of the finest lenses on the market right now.

tony286 05-31-2008 10:41 PM

Catalyst 05-31-2008 11:36 PM

Yea.. the number one problem I see is just get closer to the flower pic.

you are doing good..

also if you want to have fun.. sometime try HDR outside..

Richard Dawkins 05-31-2008 11:50 PM

My honest opinion is that these photos are amateur at best. You'll get there but the journey is just beginning for you.
