* Let's start a business thread - how to generate traffic *

Let's make 1 business thread a year, i'll start with this year's one.

Ok i bet nobody is gonna post their secret traffic sources but feel free to post something useful. Let's keep it troll free. Squishydick or whatever his name is is NOT allowed in this thread.

Tip #1:

Youtube.com and other similar sites. Ask your sponsor if you are allowed to watermark some of their promo vids with your own url. If they do then watermark a bunch of their clips (even 10 sec clips are good enough) with a short url. Like:
seemore.com/butts/
seemore.com/tits/
seemore.com/black/

And in every one of those subdirs you have a redirect to the paysite with your code in it. Ofcourse each subdir has to match niche of the video you upload.

Youtube does NOT allow nudity but many similar sites do. Youtube, if you upload enough can send shitloads of traffic and it even converts!

They give you 2 strikes if you upload content that is too adult. I suggest if you get strike 2 leave that account and open a new one. So you wont fuck up by uploading another vid they don't like and get your account closed.

Ok next.

buy a ton of useless traffic and trade it with everyone else.

:Oh crap :1orglaugh

brand0n 09-03-2006 04:59 PM

dude.. that was serious....

ok you can do this.. buy a ton of traffic from all the sources.. scub the living shit of it down to actully surfers, set up your own collection boxes and build your own opt in mail program.

now, this takes time, and with mailing being what it is now a days is very tricky.. but still a large amount of traffic sitting right there if you want to persue it.

Violetta 09-03-2006 05:00 PM

Hmm... never thought of that with youtube before! Question: What is too adult? Dick in pussy? Or just a glimpse of pussy?

In youtube's case its hard to say. I uploaded tons of vids which i all carefully checked for nudity and 27 were fine and then suddenly 2 or 3 are not within their TOS. I really havent found a good reason for it. Maybe a chick who bends over and you see her star or something like that. But thats why i wouldnt suggest uploading 50 vids at once but more like 10 a day (30 mins work) and every next day see if you got a strike. (they mail you). When you get your 2nd simply open a new account. Or open one after your first strike. Takes 10 secs anyway.

Violetta 09-03-2006 05:21 PM

Thanks! A very nice tip...

Hi Franck, welcome back. I haven't been around lately so I don't know exactly when you got back. Regardless, welcome back, man!

devilspost 09-03-2006 05:37 PM

would be nice to have an admin software that would spam all the tube sites at once.

Cheers didnt know about the youtube one.

jscott 09-03-2006 06:01 PM

1. SEO for free google/yahoo/msn traffic

2. submit your galleries/freesites to big sites that never delete the galleries (i have a secret list)

3. take advantage of shitty (yet free) traffic, message boards, link dumps etc etc, the traffic is total shit but still it gets your links out there, and actually can make sales sometimes

4. NEVER use hosted galleries!!! if someone doesnt like a hosted gallery they dont have opportunity to go to your site, only to the hosted galleries site, so always make your own (and it's better for SEO anyways)

good thread Franck

:thumbsup

I'll bite.... try adding newsletter boxes to all of your sites and starting a niche organized list. There are plenty of free scripts to use, and keeping in constant contact with readers gets people to return, and it makes the surfers feel a personal connection with you (the webmaster)... The more they trust you, the more they will pay attention to your suggestions.

Yes, very good tip indeed and i've been trying to do this for ages. If i started doing this years ago i would have a massive list by now.

Zarathustra 09-03-2006 06:29 PM

Tip #3

Create software/ebook pertaining to your niche. Embed ads that forward to:
seemore.com/butts/
seemore.com/tits/
seemore.com/black/

Create a sales page and a selling price, eg. $49.95 to give the product value

Leak it out on all the share sites and let them steal

2HousePlague 09-03-2006 06:39 PM

Carry a sharpie in your back pocket on a Saturday night, and write your URL on the wall of every shithole saloon crapper you're pissing in -- :winkwink:

carefully select your seo battles.

some are harder than others and if you dont complete what is needed to out do a top 10 competitor then your just waisting your time.

make list of keywords that get decent traffic and has little seo competition and work that list until you rank well for all of them.

it all adds up.

it also makes it easier for you when you go for the main keyword because your already coming up for phrases that have the main keyword in it.

Dirty F 09-03-2006 07:47 PM

This thread kinda sucks. Let's do it bi yearly instead of yearly.

MarkMan 09-03-2006 07:50 PM

YouTube forbids all nudity and sexual content. Content is user-reviewed, meaning if it doesn't follow the rules, users can flag it. Too many flags and it gets taken down.

Videos showing groping, less than thong and bra, or see-thru tops will typically get flagged in less than 1000 views. I've even had videos of girls in tank tops and boy briefs taken down simply because they were talking too dirty.

xanx 09-03-2006 08:04 PM

video sites are what's hot in mainstream right now thats for sure

BT 09-03-2006 08:05 PM

Buy it for sure

Boobzooka 09-03-2006 08:08 PM

Got that right. Anyone can flag anything as inappropriate and there doesn't seem to be any way to appeal. People flag eachother just to eliminate the competition for rankings. It's a pretty broken system.

They have an appeals process, but it's not worth the effort.

RobbieRye 09-03-2006 08:10 PM

buy some traffic

direct it properly

see the users come back

s2kcord 09-03-2006 08:11 PM

This is how I make money! I will pick a search term then buy a domain with that search term in it. I will then build a site bigger a better then the top listing for that search term in google. I will then buy traffic set up traffic trades and trade hardlinks. Before you know it I got the number 1 listing in google. Never had to spam one person and I offer quality content that my customers buy. That makes me happy and them happy. :)

babymaker 09-03-2006 08:58 PM

the urinal trick works like a muther fucker lol for selling cell fones :) at least a few years ago when i was helping a friend promote his new store i used to put a flyer on the top of every urinal at college bathrooms lol :1orglaugh conversion rate of about 1:3 :pimp doubt it would be worth it for a porn site tho unless it was like a train station bathroom in NY or someplace.

It just seems to be a big black hole to throw complaints into.
I'm doubting that there's actually anyone on the other end. :disgust
Maybe I got unlucky. Or they just don't like me.

MarkMan 09-04-2006 07:10 AM
