Best movie to break in a home theater with?
Setting my shit up over here and am wondering what's the best movie to kick it off with (at a "theater premiere party") - what are your thoughts? It's gotta be something on a large scale that takes full advantage of the screen size (100") and audio (500+ watts). So far I'm thinking something like Apocolypse Now or Aliens but am open to other suggestions...

Saving Private Ryan or Terminator II

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was Apocalypse Now. If you're a bit of a geek, The Lord of the Rings trilogy could also work well. Would have to be a long party though...

Kill Bill 1 has great sound and visuals. It is what I use when I want to show off.

Gladiator and Kingkong will be great. :thumbsup

Grandmas boy :winkwink:
|
Black Hawk Down
|
Behind Enemy Lines
Two scenes in particular... the one near the begining where they get shot down and then the one where Owen Wilson is running through the trip wires. Beyond that load up Heat and check out the gun battle after they rob the bank. :winkwink: |
pod race episode one
|
pearl harbor is a good one for lighting it up, they demoed my system with that after it was installed... pretty bad ass

Those 2 films Apoc now or Aliens are too old and fuzzy picture for your new big screen.
"Ronin" has the best car cases of any movie (EVER) and has some fantastic surround sound fire fights. Robert denio is in it. And most people haven't seen it but should see it in a good theartre. The picture is good quality too but I was especially impressed with the surround sound on it. Anyways have a great night Matt |
Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs for the sound tracks.
Devil's Advocate and Any Given Sunday are quite cool for audio/visual experience. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or Once Upon a Time in America would be pretty cool too. |
Black Hawk Down.
Gladiator. The Matrix. |
the matrix! or fast and furious!
|
Terminator 3
|
|
|
Blade 2: Rocked my ht room as this one had a great sound track.
|
RONIN.they'll be glued to their seats.:thumbsup

Fuck all these other loser choices people have been giving you, as far as I'm concerned there is only one movie to break in on a new home theater with and that's the Fifth Element bro. The Fifth Element!
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8...elementzn6.jpg The Fifth Element is still one of the best movies to test ANY home theater with, both visually and auditory wise. It?s stunning all the way through? anyone who recommends anything else to break in a home theater system is a fucking communist. |
Blade Runner
|
|
I'd say... anything with a helicopter. I always love the sound of one in a cinema.
And I would like to add Romeo+Juliet to the list in case there are some girlies watching too! |
Gladiator
|
war of the worlds is the best surround sound movie ive seen recently
|
HEAT
or starwars 5 with the speeder bike chase ;) |
