question to the board: any experiences on this provider?

John69 07-24-2006 12:05 PM

are these managed boxes w/cpanel ?

thunder99 07-24-2006 12:21 PM

Domain registered in January 2006 and using Enom's privacy WHOIS service.

They also seem to be behind Cnchosts.com and Ajyhosting.com, both of which are down.

Something tells me it's too good to be true.

MSV 07-24-2006 12:33 PM

Why is it that when I traceroute serveradvance.com it goes to Verio, not one of the providers listed above?

MSV 07-24-2006 12:35 PM

and why does the serveradvance.com IP belong to verio?

They are managed with a control panel, but not cPanel.

You can demo the control panel here.

Privacy protection is on for spam prevention.

We would not be able to obtain a high-assurance SSL certificate if our WhoIs information was bogus. Feel free to call the phone number listed on our site anytime.

The only thing we have in common with the two hosts you mentioned is the control panel. Back when CONTROLzx was DRZES they were selling the control panel/design packages.

This is mentioned every time we have a pinned thread on GFY.

SA is hosted on our Verio solution.

Here is an IP for a box on our other network:

209.222.128.42

Because of this assumption we are currently migrating SA over to our other network, which has become more popular for us in terms of sales.

Please call me to arrange a data center tour. I would be happy to set that up for you so you can check out our equipment personally.

Thank you.

209.222.128.42 So you host with carpathia? why not get your IP space SWIP'd to yourself.

which equinix building are you in G or F? I'm in both buildings I know carpathia's racks they have their signs all over the place. which shared cage are you in 1600? Unless you had rackspace in that datacenter 4 years ago you probably don't have a 3 rack cage in either building.

We purchase rack space and bandwidth from Carpathia. We are in building G.

We are indeed in a shared cage, we do not share racks/power though, we lease our own.

We do not have our own IPs because we do not utilize enough at this time to justify that.

565.. 10/mbps thats pretty low pricing at cost for alot of providers for bandwidth. If they sell it for less becaution of overselling and or they hope you really don't use all 50mbps.

if you have CHEAP windows servers (older hardware will do just fine - something like 2.0 CPU, 512 RAM etc, around 500 Gigs or less per month) email me your price:

at
tgpwiz.ocm

perfectly legal usage

thanks

MaddCaz 07-24-2006 02:41 PM

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-24-2006 02:52 PM

OG LennyT 07-24-2006 03:40 PM

If so, sign me up

Go ahead and signup using the link in my first post. Just select "Check" as your payment method when you signup. Be sure to enter your GFY username on the signup form.

Your server will be setup and released to you within 15-minutes after signing up.

The invoice/charge that is posted when you signup will be deleted prior to us releasing the dedicated server. No payment will be required until AUG01.

Sorry but we don't have any older hardware lying around. If we did, we would accommodate you.

If anything comes up, we'll email you.

So what happened to Hostive.com?

woj 07-24-2006 03:57 PM

I have a few clients using serveradvance.com and from what I can see, they are pretty good.... Their dedicated servers seem to be very stable and the network is good too....

Keep trying buddy.

They used the CONTROLzx HMS as well. The control panel has become very popular and a lot of hosts are using it.

Are all hosts using ModernBill the same?

Word of information:

https://serveradvance.com/loginorder...assword=t5r5r5

That link you posted is Vulnerable to cross site scripting attacks.
Namely, you should NEVER put the password in a URL.

Try going to that url, then going to your own site. The referrer url in your own sites stats pages will show the full url with password in your stats.
Alot of unknowing webmasters will fall victim to that. Fix it.

Heres the scenario...
Webmaster signs up, logs into their account with a bookmarked url like that with the password in it... decides to go to another site... voila, the site they visited will have the password and access url to his account.

Just food for thought.

Not intended as a diss. Just words of advice.

That is a very old bug. I found that months ago on Google as well.

Many new versions of the HMS have been released since then.

If you check the main site that posted that bug, you will see they listed the hole as patched.

Patched, yet you still posted a url with a password in it, which means YOURs still works that way, which is BAAAAD.

Anyways, its a security problem and its still there.

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-24-2006 05:26 PM

is it possible to get a sever with cpanel/whm? because i really like the details, but the no cpanel/whm is stopping me from switchin

directfiesta 07-24-2006 05:31 PM

Listen guys, this is a great deal, with no real exposure to loss ( setup fee )... and this from competition ...

Amazing how you guys will not consider anything else that hosting from " topnotch guys " or " stand-up people " because they bought you a fucking beer in a fucking whore show....

:2 cents:

minusonebit 07-24-2006 06:54 PM

Amazing how people jump immediately to calling someone a scammer because of some whois info. LMFAO.

Can I get Gentoo installed on my box with no control panel (it'll just be deleted anyway)? Also, how about a test file and test IP. What payment methods do you take?

Herb Kornfield 07-24-2006 07:14 PM

Just buy BTN and skip Carpathia.

KrisKross 07-24-2006 07:40 PM

Interesting offer. Have any boxes left?

Also, honestly, what's the likely hood of prices raising and what kind of notice would you give since this is month to month?

OG LennyT 07-24-2006 07:56 PM

I ordered one : )
