good music, love the techicolor and push frames in the 70's period of the movie....the blué and red just soaking through eachother. Great Cast!!!

My favorite western movie "Shane" with Alan Lad. By the way when I was younger some ladies thought I looked like Alan Lad, which I didn't mind. One lady thought I looked like Mickey Roony. From Alan Lad to Mickey Roony. She didn't make a hit with me.

ldinternet 04-06-2002 07:08 AM

My list of 'Must see movies'...

A Bronx Tale
Casino
Trainspotting
The Shawshank Redemption
Terminator I and II
Robocop
Stand By Me
Natural Born Killers
Goodfellas
Snatch
Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Traffic
You've Got Mail
The Matrix
and True Lies, for comedy value

Plus Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs and Jackie Brown, but if everyone has already seen those.... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

A Bronx Tale is a must see if you've never seen it before. Definately one of the best movies out there.

LoveAsianChicks 04-06-2002 07:24 AM

2 movies that I liked, but not sure if they popular. Rent them up:

Cube <---- Canadian film, very weird but cool. People have to go through all these rooms with deadly traps and such.

Bound <------ 2 girls plan to steal money from the Mafia.

For good mainstream movies:
- Terminator I II
- Aliens I II III (4 sucks)
- Predator I
- Crow I
- Batman
- Lord of the Rings
- Casino
- Night of the living dead (orginal)
- Vampires

Basket Case
Clerks
Gummo
Blood In, Blood Out
Suspuria
Opera
Ice From The Sun - amazing low budget movie from St. Louis...fucking amazing what these kids did with a couple thousand dollars and couple video cameras...seriuously not the typical b-movie stuff I'm known for loving :)

Godfather 2 rules man, watch it again:P.

JackFoley 04-06-2002 11:29 AM

A lot of movies like Goodfellas, Heat, and the Godfather Trilogy have already been listed, but I can't believe no one has mentioned Carlito's Way with Al Pacino and Sean Penn. Fucking brilliant movie, man.

Edit: It took me so long to post this, FuqALot got to it before me. :1orglaugh

Here are some others you should see:

- Rushmore (you have to be a geek like to me think it's funny, though)
- Memento (great suspense film you have to watch at least twice to fully grasp)
- Being John Malkovich (unexplainable)
- Three Kings (one of the best war movies ever)
- Magnolia (not as good as Boogie Nights but just as epic)
- True Romance (great script by Tarantino with lots of murder and mayhem)
- Double Indemnity (a film noir classic, and for good reason)
- Mulholland Drive (a total mindfuck from David Lynch)
- 12 Monkeys (another total mindfuck, and Brad Pitt's best performance)
- Out of Sight (incredibly funny movie with a great cast)
- The Limey (what can I say, I love Steven Soderbergh's movies)
- Rounders (pretty damn interesting, and an awesome cast)
- Strangers on a Train (one of my favorite Hitchcock films)
- Big Night (a small, quiet movie about love, life, and pasta)
- The Big Lebowski (a ridiculous comedy, but impressive nonetheless)
- Cabaret (yes, it's a musical. yes, it has liza minelli. no, i'm not gay.)
- Gattaca (a science fiction film that doesn't know it's science fiction)
- Dazed and Confused (I love it because I can relate)
- The Player (awesome murder mystery about Hollywood)
- Swimming With Sharks (a darkly comic movie about Hollywood)
- Sling Blade (the reason Billy Bob Thornton is famous)
- Gengarry Glenn Ross (perfect cast, perfect dialogue, perfect film)

I know I'll think of more as soon as I hit submit... :)
