F1

.
It's that time again race fans.
Early report tell of a difficult Friday session which was dominated by McLaren over Ferrari.
I don't think there is anything for Schumi to worry about.
:thumbsup :thumbsup

The results will be.....

1: Schummi
2: Raikonen
3: Montoya
4: Ralfie boy
5: Heidfeld
6: only 5 cars finnish the race...:)

Hooterdog 03-15-2002 05:28 AM

Ferrari sticking with the old car . . . can only mean there are problems with the new tranny. Remember when they first started developing the semi-auto trans, and they blew it up race after race after race?

McSpike 03-15-2002 06:22 AM

Schumi all the way! The old car still beats all the competition!

Hooterdog 03-15-2002 06:56 AM

I dunno . . . I'm thinking Williams/Michelin combo in the hot conditions. Should be a good race.

DTK 03-15-2002 09:18 AM

I thought I heard that track temperature was 65 degrees celsius during the first session:eek7

You wouldn't happen to be Finnish, would you?:winkwink:

Hooterdog 03-15-2002 02:59 PM

speaking of Fins. . . what's Keke Rossberg been doing lately? What a dude he was.

kuwawawah 03-15-2002 03:15 PM

I think coulthard is under alot of pressure from kimi being so quick , david is cracking. He might be the second driver for the mclaren team again. The weather will be good for michelin tires, but over a race distance the more consistant drive from schumi will win the race. I think ferrari should keep ruben, they don't need another teammate challenging for the title, they need a second or third place man. Sorry for the long post, need to let some air out.:glugglug

DrGuile 03-15-2002 03:17 PM

Im going to the Grand Prix in Montreal again this year :)

Pretty good seats too!

Last year we decided to go at the last minute so we ended up in the straight line...

Anyway, its shaping up to be all ferrari again this year : (

...and BAR will suck terribly...

Looking foward to see what Toyota will do...

Also, are rumors of a Volkswagen team true?

Well, up until today he was managing Mika Hakkinen's career. It was announced that relationship has ended. Makes it 99.9% sure in my mind that we won't be seeing MH in an f1 car ever again.

Today Keke rossberg announced in an interview that Mika Hakkinen will be back next year...The deal was already closed
december last year.

Keke told the press that Mika was still having some big plans
in Formula 1...he just needed the sabbatical year because
he suffered from exhaustion and stress......

I don't think it's a matter of him cracking. I just don't think he's all that great. I mean, for a guy who has been in top equipment his entire career, the results have not been terribly impressive.

When the Raikkonen deal was announced, one of the Speedvision guys predicted that Kimi would blow DCs doors off... looks like he may be right.

DTK 03-15-2002 03:34 PM

DynaSpain - That's weird...check out this article . With all the top drives taken, would Mika really bother coming back to run mid-pack?

ServerGenius 03-15-2002 03:41 PM

I quoted a news article from another Formula 1 site...posted after that article on grandprix.com...a similar article was on the other site... http://www.formula1.nl (Dutch)

I also have my doubts and to be honest I'm NOT a hakkinen fan
Formula 1 needs more guys like Eddie Irvine.... certainly not
the best driver in the field but his attitude fits in the circus.
No media training no politics always arrogant and straight up.
No matter if he talks bullshit or not..... F1 would be boring
without him.

you might just be right, but he is still a F1 driver and not everyone can walkaway from a plane crash like he did.

I love going to the Canadian GP, I like seats closest to the exit, I've been in a lineup for 2 hours just trying to get on to the subway. Also I love all the pretty girls come out from their shells from the long winter preperations.

This are some pics I took few years back in the Canadian GP were Panis was seriously hurt.

My dream is to go to the Monaco GP and Spa. Eau Rouge is the shit.

Free practice has begun. You can get live timing HERE

DTK 03-15-2002 07:37 PM

On another note, what do you all think Walkinshaw is playing at with the whole phoenix/prost thing?? Seems like they're trying to bully their way into Bernie's game. I think they forgot that it's Bernie's game and he wrote the rules.

Klaus... 03-15-2002 08:00 PM

Michael is only 1/2 sec off the pace.
Considering he has done 10 laps less than the front runners, I'ld say that this one is in the bag.

DTK 03-15-2002 10:07 PM

One bet I'll make - BAR isn't coming close to the top 10 anytime soon. The Honda may be down on power, but being down in the 15-20 region means they built a shit car. Just like Jag.

kuwawawah 03-15-2002 10:31 PM

I give respect to the TOYOTA team, them boys had to start from scratch and they are not doing a bad job at all.

I already started...when my boy was one year old I took him out in my M3 and let him steer while I floored it.

He would point the car around for a while and then get distracted by the cd player.

maybe a third one?

Gotta thank you guys for the cool F1 links
It's not too easy to follow in the states, they seem to hide the damn races. I'm lucky if they carry a taped broadcast at an ungodly hour during a weeknight.

Nikki Lauda was my favorite. Well, him and Prost.

aussietrend 03-16-2002 05:49 PM

How bad is this:
I live in Australia and the F1 is in Malaysia, 1 hour time difference, and I don't get a live telecast.
They don't show it until 11pm at night.

Am I pissed off or what !!!
Thanks a lot :BangBang: Channel 9.... pricks.
