oh well i mean somebody said we have a problem since iran is close to china and russia, reality is weather people want to believe it or not the USA is so far ahead military wise it wouldn't be close, the problem is trades, $$$$, thats the only reason the USA would be scared of China, Russia, etc

Unless the DoD recruits the Salvation Army, I don't think an invasion is likely until Iraq is stable enough to pull troops out of.

IMO, A tactical strike on potential nuke building facitilites is more likely in the short-term.

i doubt they'd invade or attack iran, it's more likely they'd liberate the people

honestly im not to sure, they have nuclear weapons too but I think the USA is far enough ahead to take care of them. I think the biggest problem would be our trades with China though lol

Wow...I've been in the Navy for 9 years and if anyone actually thinks China isn't a threat militarily; is A: crazy or B: critically uninformed. I'm just hoping China becomes a stronger trade partner, and enjoys the lifestyle that a free market society can enjoy. That's our best bet with China.

when you think about this is how our government works. The Pres asks congress if he can invade "x country" and they do a poll/vote to see if they will do it.

My first thought on seeing the poll, was I am glad we do not do this to see what countries we invade. But we do.

IMO, one of America's biggest weaknesses is people's false bravado towards military threats. Too many keyboard warriors acting like the Pentagon can just push a button and destroy any country it wants with no consequences, and everyone will be home in time to watch Leno.

If we went to war with Iran, I don't think Russia would attack. China may, but you never know. Where were the allies of Iraq?

If you think any country WANTS to go to war with someone like the US, you are out of your mind. Kep in mind that the US has some pull in other nations. It wouldn't just be Iran/China vs. US. It would be Iran/China vs. US/many other countries.

Iran would hand our asses to us. Unless we are prepare to mow down endless waves of rabid teenagers on TV, the U.S. cannot hope to win a protracted conflict. Iran sent 100,000s of lightly armed children against the Iraqi army for almost a decade. Iran has the will to win at all costs, we don't.
