I know someone mailing this shit already and he sells the same lead to around 6 companies. $60 a lead is more like it if you ask me. If these guys even manage to hit one mortgage out of every 1000 leads they are still ahead $'s wise.

Plus, they resell all the information and shit anyway to other companies. So any mailer giving away leads exclusively to 1 company for $10 is an idiot. As I said, I hope you don't mind that?

We like to keep our lenders happy by giving them QUALITY leads, and not to piss off the people who submit their info. We make a decent margin but we only pay that much because cost of bandwidth staff etc.

I think with advertising.com you can get $20-40 for this same type of lead. So why would we want to just make $10?

Now let me help the would-be spammers do the math so they can see just how unprofitable this situation could become for them.

1 lead = $10.00 in your pocket.
1 spam in my inbox = lawsuit for $500.00 plus court costs and expenses.

You would have to sell 50 leads to pay for the statuary damages alone and for each spam I get those costs grow by another $500.00. That doesn't even cover the court costs, travel, lodging or expenses.

You all are much better off promoting your favorite FPA program.

Tell that to the people who get pulled into court for sending me spam.

Indiana's state anti-spam law still stands until an appeals court rules on the pre-emption issues - judges are still issuing judgments based on that statute. There are several possible challenges (constitutional and otherwise) to that section of the I-CAN-SPAM-ACT.
