I took a ride in a High-bread car!

It was the Toyota Preus and i was totally impressed. Get about 400 miles to the Gallon. The owner said put gas in the tank after 5 weeks and she had gas in it still!
The car cost $29k Canadian.
I'm getting one!

As a Former Lexus/Toyota employee, I must say you are doing Toyota no justice...a few notes:

1. Its a HIGH-BRID, not "bread"
2. Its the TOYOTA PRIUS, not "preus"

All in all though, a really great automobile!!

I bought one but it wasnt fast enough.

Im having a local mechanic take all that battery shit out and that tiny engine is going in the dump.
Im having the frame cut to hold a 1977 Olds 455 big block and adding 2 gas tanks.

I love doing my part for the planet

i am never amazed at the level of ignorance on this board.

youd think some people here went to some kind of schooling, but I am beginning to doubt it.

exspamr 03-16-2004 02:51 PM

ya know i really dont see what all the hype is about the prius or the civic hybrid... sure they get really good milage but back in the early 90's the 3 cyl geo metro got similar milage around 60mpg and these cars really dont have significantly more balls than the metro

fuzebox 03-16-2004 02:51 PM

Fuck the environment, buy some gas, and get a car with horsepower.

Hippy.

Babagirls 03-16-2004 02:56 PM

pornoshare 03-16-2004 04:03 PM

You cant be serious. 0 - 60mph in like 11 seconds. If you want to save the environment you may as well walk, you will get there a lot faster.

400 miles to the gallon?

liquidmoe 03-16-2004 05:45 PM

Auto manufacturers dont really want you to buy these hybrid electric cars, if they did, they wouldnt make them all look like shit. Think about it, I might not mind getting myself a hybrid car even with lower power if it still looked like my bmw, but instead all you have are these super economy cars that you wouldnt normally buy, except now they tell you that you wont even have decent power in them. The only real incentive to buying these things is the gas-mileage and this feeling of saving the world, but really, if they cared, they wouldnt make them look like shit in the first place.

Just my two cents, make a decent looking hybrid car and even with lower power output there will be more interest in it.
