Well i'll give you some pointers on detecting bullshitters

1) Online portfolios: If someone tells you they do good design ontime etc. but they don't have anything online avoid them

2) Ask if the same designer who did the work in their portfolio will be doing your work, you will be suprised how many have awesome portfolios but the work was not done by the same guy who will do yours.

3) Do not pay 100% upfront

4) Ask for many sites or banner samples (depending for what you are hiring). Seeing just one site they did or one banner set won't give you a good picture of what they really can or can't do.

5) Cut the ties quick if after you sent a deposit their mother dies or they just got sick or their wife just got pregnant, look for another designer right away and ask for a refund, you will most likly not enjoy doing business with those jokers.

what's the most profitable site you run?

How important is a written site proposal, and if it is truly important, do you suggest that the person seeking to build the site write the proposal himself or hire someone to do it? Why or why not, please? :)

Well in this business they key is recurring, regardless if you have your own paysite or promote others make sure that soime of your marketing efforts go into promoting a recurring p[rogram that give the surfer a reason to either stay a member or come back and join again.

I think that they key in the online world when it comes to a website is to start with basics, meaning write down the basics of what you want the site to be and do and make it live, if you wait until you think about every feature you will never have a site up and you will just get side tracked.

You can always add bells and whistles, ebay is a good example they started off very very simple just so they can be first to market and as time went on they added another feature etc.

Is there any money left to be made with TGPs/MGPs?? (I mean creating a new one, not profiting from the traffic from the ones that already exist)...

You cannot stop porn the demand is HUGE and the money in it is even bigger, but I do think they will try to pull many into court. I think surfers started to figure out how to work online porn, how to identify a BS plugin site, how to use engines correctly, this business will just get better.

As far as Merchant accounts once again if you run a real site you have nothing what to worry about, if you promise the surfer exclusive spanking videos and then when they log in they see shemale movies then yes your chargebacks will be high and you will lose your merchant account.

I think the best of online porn is yet to come, I see webmasters getting more and more creative everyday.

Well if I would have a choise between starting a TGP or MGP I would pick a MGP keep it EXTREMLY simple and only invest in SE traffic to it!

Well its a waste of time and bad business to sell spots before you have solid good traffic.

To start I would list my own and accept others and def. keep it very clean, remember think long term you want to make the surfer bookmark your site. All it takes is one nasty gallery that creates popups etc. and you can lose many surfers.

I really think instead of thinking number of hits think quality of hits, its def. quality over quantity that will matter at the end of the day. Thats why I said try getting some SE spots or other places where the surfer is not coming from another free site.
