Obama had this handled. Iran wasn't moving towards making nukes and we didn't have any problems in the Persian Gulf. Trump moves into office and suddenly we are marching off towards war in the Middle East for another twenty or thirty years while American kids are dying.

It's simple. The United States made a deal with Iran - we would return the money we seized from them decades ago if they didn't pursue nuclear weapons. They kept their end of the deal, we kept ours.
Now we have Trump who walked away from the deal, now Iran is actually and openly pursuing nuclear weapons, and we are potentially days away from our third Middle East war that will consume trillions of dollars and American lives.
