I am new and my goal here
 

Hello everyone,

I am new member here at GFY.com and have found this forum rather useful in my research of running adult websites. A quick about myself, I am a software engineer working for a medical device company. I have been programming enterprise web and mobile applications for about 7 years and am very successful with it. I also have a solid background in online marketing, some decent design abilities, and an ok writer when I take the time to proof read and redraft to perfection. My posts here will not show this so much!

I will be launching blog that will run a minimum of year that will document the progress of 100+ adult themed start ups focusing on RevShare, Pay per referral, pay per signups, and misc affiliate programs. If these test cases prove to be lucrative then the blog will continue past the year while I continue to grow the existing test cases and add new ones (I currently own almost 300 adult .com urls and want to do something with them)

In my research there seems to be a lot of back and forth that you can or can not make money in the adult industry anymore, that nobody pays for porn, blah, blah, blah. Well, through this blog I hope to show people what can be done in the industry without being a producer of porn.

I also want to interview and show case success stories outside of my test cases where I can shine some light on someones adult based website, their start up story, and feedback of their "what they learned" moments. If any of you have a success story, that is still live online, and want to be put on the list to be interviewed, PM me and I'll get back to you shortly with a list of questions to fill out. You will get a do follow link from my site to yours by doing so along with your story/interview.

I won't be showing/linking to my own test case URLs for the first 6 months, as I don't want to bias the results of each success or failure so I won't be competing against you in the beginning. After the six months I will release a list of the test cases and then post a short launch story with every new test case that is launched afterwards.

As the blog gets up and going, I will share the link with you guys(hint: my username pretty much spells it out:winkwink:). I will also be asking several questions to clear up some whole in what I have learned so far. Happy to be apart of the GFY family.

OK cool, so what tactic is going to be your main focus?

Each site will focus on one or a handful of tactics. Overall, the tactic is to be able to generate income with little up front costs. So the use of sponsored content and social marketing will be the norm at the beginning. As each site grows, assuming this is the case, then movement into paid marketing and even licensing content may be reviewed. The upfront costs will obviously include hosting and domain registration. I will manage development but blog about other options and their cost also.

I will blog individually about each niche a site is set up for, what I started with, how it grew or didn't, and changes I make to tactics,layouts, sponsors, etc and the results of those changes.

Each website is to generate an monthly income that passes it's monthly expenses no matter the amount. If each site only nets $5 on average then the a system of networked micro money blogs may be the way to make a decent income. If I find some niches net far more then I'll blog about those. If each site does pretty decent on average then blogging about having a handful of quality sites will make you good money.

My focus on most site will be quality over quantity though I do have a few general and broadly niched tube domains that will be quantity based. By focusing on quality I can also focus on written content for each video/gallery posted along with general SEO for each post. I am developing a WP setup and plugins to help me manage this from one domain and push out the content to each niche site as I process each video/gallery.

There is the general, somewhat detailed, tactic.

I will be blogging on the successes and failures of several niche porn start up sites I will be managing.

What methods of income work, layouts, content sources, and actual monthly numbers will be blogged about.

I also want to build a Q&A section to gather the stories of the startups of other adult webmasters while sharing their website with my readers.

What three niches are you starting with?

Not 100% sure yet. However, I am going to start with a few not so niche like a site on just redheads and have a few more niche fetch/fantasy like a website on naughty nuns.

Trying be setting several different angles over the long haul so there will be a mix.
