If you did not have consumers...you would not have a business. Your particular products may not be sold directly to the poor...but maybe indirectly?

the only reason there are checks to sign is because you are able to sell a product and use "poor" people to create it and directly or indirectly buy/use it.

if products were only made and sold to the "rich" that would reduce demand by at least 90%.

I signed checks for more than 20 years and made a small fortune doing so but it was the consumer that created the job/business and kept me in business.

Well in all honesty, no one signs *my* checks. I get wires. Who signs your checks? Those richer than yourself? To them you might be considered poor.

I am well aware of who the ultimate customers are. The other thread was an attempt to vilify executives of a company that employees 400,000 people for making money.

This thread is to counter that. Whether you like business owners or not. They employee people.

yes but its not like its done out of the goodness of their hearts. we are expected to worship the 'job creators' like they can do no wrong but all employees are just pawns in the game of profit to them.

I know that. It was also to vilify CEO payments and I agree that CEO pay for many companies...is an outrage...and when it is for a failing/failed company...which it sometimes is...it should be a criminal act. My:2 cents:

Does the government count as the poor creating jobs and signing checks? They pay a lot of people and according to the news, the government at all levels is poor/broke.

I don't disagree that in some companies the CEO's are over compensated.
But when you do the math like it was shown in that other thread, if the company would fire that CEO the employees would profit 12 cents an hour. So my point is that would that company exist and be profitable without that CEO guiding and growing that business?

The government is a perfect example of terrible over paid CEO's. There isn't a business on the planet that comes close taking in the amount of revenue our federal government does.

BTW...I had a small contracting business...and never employed anymore than 40 people and usually had no more than...12 or 15 people...employed at any given time. I could have been a much larger business but for various reasons chose not to take that route. I of course was the single owner/CEO.

I have worked for companies that were ran very well and companies that were ran poorly and were bloated and corrupt, but still managed a profit, but in just about every case I have ever seen the government is the most bloated, corrupt, mismanaged business there is. So yes, I suppose they are a poor company hiring (and often overpaying) people, but they are not designed to make money and they seem to have no idea on how to actually save it.

As far as I know the government does not come anywhere close to approaching civilian CEO pay...you are talking 10's of thousands of dollars or 100's of thousands of dollars compared to 10's of millions of dollars and even 100's of millions of dollars.

A CEO should get as much as the company is willing to give him. The problem I have is with bankers making so much money. Those fuckers create nothing and make thousands of times more money than the average honest hard working American. And most of the shit they're doing is borderline criminal activity at the expense of "the poor".

Steve Jobs(RIP), Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates -- and even the head of WalMart -- they should be richer than god. But not a guy who moves other people's money around and scams the system for a living. Not only should they make way less money, but some of them should be in jail, or thrown to lions.

There you'll get no argument from me. The only positive thing is there aren't a whole lot of those large banks.

I can't believe people can make such a stupid arguments like he does in many occasions in this video. For example when he speaks at 2:35 about "drowning in jobs". Can't he comprehend that there are many other factors that composes the whole picture. Much have changed in time, for example outsourcing, whole state of the country and so on and so on. He speaks like only rich people taxation is the main factor for number of jobs, which is more than idiotic.
And whole speech of his has dumb arguments like this.

Tony, I doubt that you know more about running a company than the CEO of Walmart or McDonalds.

Just as a reminder. These large corporations have shareholders. Shareholders that not only expect dividends, they demand them. No profits to share with those shareholders, the operating and expansion capital evaporates. Then minimum wage is a moot issue. Ask anyone that spent their careers in the automotive industry.

I actually think he was saying exactly what you did. He makes a few raw points, but in the end he says that the rich don't create jobs, what creates jobs is having a robust economy with a strong middle class. When that occurs everyone wins.

Actually the thread was to show example that tax payers are subsidizing big business profits. I could really care less if a CEO makes a lot of money.. On the other hand I do have issue if that CEO is making a big paycheck at the expense of tax payers..

I understand you feel the need to show off how awesome you are every chance you get.. But I would have assumed you would be upset that your tax dollars go to subsidize employees of a large corporation that makes a sizable profit.

Who would ever guess you couldn't see past your own little political agenda and can't even stay consistent about wasted tax dollars.. I guess once again, it's just a right vs left thing with you..
