I see my gf logging into facebook all the time on her smartfone.
I then ask her "so what interesting stuff did you discover there ?"
When I see what she has just read, it always makes me think WTF keeps people interested in this shit?! "oh, there some bitch has posted random pics of her kids (again). Someone else is feeling cold today. Someone else wishes they didn't have to go to work today. Another person is just back from the gym.
It's making me fucking hate people in general...

I joined in 2006 before it was as large as it is now. Facebook is what it is and I get out of it what I put into it. Ignore crap I don't want to see and subscribe to stuff I do want to see. I get a chance to check in with friends and acquaintances I would never know what they are doing in the world otherwise. It is the easiest place to network.

The Facebook experience is only as good as the friends that one has on the platform.
If a person adds a bunch of silly "friends" who post nothing but nonsense everyday, then that will be the resulting experience.
However, if the persons that one adds as "friends" actually have some intellectual depth, the conversations and shared content no doubt will be much more meaningful.
Blasting Facebook for the sake of blasting Facebook is simply a matter of ignorance and exemplifies more sheep-like behavior than the varied communities of persons that use Facebook every day.
Decline friend requests from dumb individuals and you won't even know that they are there. It's just that simple.

Lets just say you have a big family...and everyone is connected and nobody else as you can set it to private within that group. Wouldn't it easier to share news and updates and inform everyone within that circle as you can make it private only to that group. You got a baby, and you want to show it to your family members, that's kinda easy right?
Or maybe you have a product, you create a page and you engage with your members to get feedback. You then know who actually uses your product and why they hate or like your product. Isn't that a good tool as it is free?Comment
