Hehe.... this is awesome, after two years of putting up with a 6 foot 7 inch, bald, 300+ pound, cranky, LOUD, ape-man for a computer science teacher who always talks about the good ole days of when Fortran ruled I'm finally able to make some use out of my tormenting class time with him!

I'm editing an old C++ program of mine to sort through structs...
Now I can easily gather info from my free sites' stats on paycounter, cut+paste data and have all the info sorted out from numerous sites to figure out which link lists are list very plainly which link lists are consistently sending the most traffic so I can make more productive use of my time!

Hehe... this might not sound much to you guys but the personal satisfaction I'm getting from finally knowing that I'm getting some use out of basic computer science and showing (well not physically showing) my teacher that I did something with it is great!!!

Yep.. I had to learn it ALL on my own.. I had to skip tons of classes in college and hang out in the library as I made my porn website at the time MJ's Classy Ladies...
It was hosted on Tripod, geocities, theglobe.com and Infoseek! I had to open a new account every 4 weeks or so, but still got 5k a day! Those were the days.

Its cool cause I still have the same sextracker I used back in the day! It says member since 1997 on it!! Wow, cant believve its been 4 fucking years!

Yeah Bone, when I was in high school the AP computer programming classes were still doing Pascal -- my brother is 21 and when he graduated from high school -- that was the last year that the AP test was in Pascal -- after that it all went to C++

But shit my computer classes started in 4th or 5th grade and ran all the way through to college... I remember the teacher yelling holy hell at one kid in my 5th grade class because he stuck in a floppy disk while the red light was still on! hahhaa And all the kids would put their hands on the monitors and turn them on trying to shock themselves... good times!

Anyway I'm having fun so I'll write more...

When I was in 7th grade there was these "smart kids" -- they had a Galacticom type multiuser BBS... they started printing porno pics on the dot matrix printer in the back of the classroom. Our teacher was so old she had no idea... but these kids were selling the pics! From a dot matrix! hahaha... Took like 5 minutes to print just one pic. Those were Apple IIe's ;)

Anyway that was in Coral Springs, FL (Forest Glen Middle) -- I wonder if those guys are still in the porno biz today... ???

yep i remebr thos Apple IIe's I think they were in Middle school where youd put in the floppy's and the red light would come on!!

I rember playing the game Montozuma's Revenge on em, and some other games.. It was pretty cool!

I also remebr programing in Basic on exxxotica's Commador 64!! Remember those?
Then I evolved to the Texas Instruments, and really leared my input commands in basic!


Yeah those middle school days bring back memories! But there was no damn internet back then!

None of my friends unfortunately had a Commodore 64... I had a TI994a w/ a speech synthesizer! hehe and my friend had some little Timex PC... My dad used to type in game programs from magazines for us to play... Hours and hours of mind numbing fun. The first online game we ever played was a slot machine -- you just pressed RETURN hundreds of times -- we would chant "Cherry Cherry Cherry" over and over again ahaha... Now that I think about it -- that was so lame but it was really fun then... we were just kids.

before there was internet (before it was popular i mean), there was bbs's
you would connect with a dial-up connection and the interface was built all with ascii characters.
you could download warez and porn.
some of them required you to upload stuff, and some of them had monthly fees.

a friend of mine had a server like that built on a 80386 machine with 14k modem.

Commodore 64 was such an awesome computer.
you would load the games from the tape drives. then i bought a 5.5" floppy drive, and it was SOOO MUCH faster!! now i was waiting 5 minutes instead of 30 for a 64kb- game to load. *lol*

this is so funny,,because i intially went to have a computer science major and attempted first C++ class in college last semester,,,

all i can say that it was soooo hard and till this day i still don't a have a clue what the hell i was trying to learn,,

i guess it was really lack of motivation,,why do i need to bust my ass in this just so i can make over 75k a year in computer programing,,LOL

i make enough money to buy a programmer,,
less of a headache,

needless to say i switched my major to something simple
business admin,,

Yeah I had a multi-node BBS on a Swan 386sx 20mhz... I had two copies of the BBS multitasking under DESQView and I did the same thing under OS/2 -- it was so cool to watch two people talking together in chat or playing games on my PC... I'm glad I'm essentially doing the same thing today...

Playa -- I did the same thing. I was a Computer Science major... I realized I was in the wrong place when I was in the required Physics w/ Calculus class and I was fighting the curve with engineering students that had to get straight A's for their acceptance into whatever...

I switched to Art ;)

Besides who needs to know how to multiply numbers in binary or how to program in Fortran or Cobol... Waste of time. Most of the professors knew less than the students anyway.

I was in an intro computer class in college -- it was taught by an older woman -- I got a fucking C on the final -- half of the answers on the exam that she provided were wrong. The TA's in the class didn't even know what an operating system was. I would get into really stupid debabes with the class (about 200 students) about online privacy and freedom of speech -- more aggravating than educational.

Actually one of the authors of Doom came back to our school (UF) -- he told all of the programming students that they were wasting their time and that they should drop out like he did hehehe...

We should start an online porn college... I bet we could make some bucks and have all these young kids do all our work for us!!! You can imagine we would have no problem getting students. Do you know how many fathers would be proud of their sons for doing such a thing? A lot of dad's think porn is coooool!

Heck when I was in High school didn't even know the meaning of the word computer.

The programer that wrote this process control
software for me in Clipper (Dos) helped field test Fortran in 1957 and he told me there were just 12 computers in the world then, mainframes. Most of you people were not even thoughts in your mommy and daddys mind then.

I still have over 35 of this process control software in use and just sold some more.

BBS's rocked...i remember being like 7years old...(back in 87') & dialing into a BBS..& downloading porn!

Think it was "Blue Ridge Express" out of Richmond,VA..one of the biggest BBS's of its time.

It's pretty cool when your only 21' & still remember the "old skool dayZ"
