    What's up with the Grammys ? Talk about lame awards

    Wow guys, did you watch the Grammys last night ? I was switching off between that and "Who's Line Is It Anyways". Some of those awards were totally lame. I guess that they did hit every style of music, I think that I'll stick to watching the MTV awards, he he.

    Then there's the "Album of the year", which had Radiohead, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Eminem, and I think Beck. What the hell kind of nominees are those ? Eminem was the only notable one in the batch. Then they give the award to Steely Dan !!! What the fuck is that all about ???

    Then what's with this Macy Gray shit ?? She sucks, but yet she beats out all of the other girls.

    The thing that REALLY pissed me off, being a metalhead and all was when the Deftones one the "Metal Performance" category when they're not even metal !!!!

    I guess that next year I'll have to just not watch it, I just kept waiting to see the Eminem/Elton John performance, which was neat seeing those 2 singing together, he he.

      I totaly agree with you.

      Those awards sucked ass and the hotties of the celeb biz (Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez) were not even there

      The only thing everyone watched it for was to see what Eminem would do

          One more week until the local cable company finally gets MTV...hooray!

          I only caught the Madonna number at the beginning. At first, I didn't recognize her & thought it was either Brittany or Chirstina.

          I ended up working on some websites as usual .

                          Music tastes are a relative thing. I personally think Macy Gray is a fucking genius. I try not to say one group/performer sucks. I feel that until I record a song that sells millions of copies, I should keep my mouth shut on "what is good".

                          I can't comment on Eminem, because I haven't heard enough of his stuff to form an opinion.

                          I'm glad Steely Dan won the award. It's about 20 years late in coming, but what the hell.

                              Well some of MTV, actually most of em are bigots, they are to "scared" to play ICP. I remember a few months back when hundreds of juggalos marched on The Real Losers (TRL) and MTV called the cops and made them leave...hell all we wanted was for them to play us on the air. Anyways, ICP is too good for TRL anyways. PEACE

                                      I only caught the last half. The whole Eminen thing was bullshit ratings crap. Some called it an olive branch, I call it lip service. I'm starting to like Macy Gray, but that song has had it. The way the release periods work, her single from 1999 was still eligible this year. I was happy to see U2 win and Papa Roach not. I should be happy for the home town boys, but I don't really dig their style.

                                      All I got to say is Dolly Parton was fucking killer! I really wanted to see Madonna, but I missed it.

                                                  OKay...here is my view on what happened at the "Grammy's".

                                                  Macy Gray-didnt think she should even be nominated, her voice sounds like mine when I wake up in the morning from smoking!!!

                                                  Eminem: I thought he got ass-fucked on the Album of the Year by that old guy that I never even heard of!! And I thought Paul Simon retired?? LOL HOWEVER, Elton John and Eminem's performace was very good and rather emotional...job well done!!!

                                                  Christina Augualra: Her perfomace would of been good, IF SHE SANG IN ENGLISH!!! Horray for her, she knows spanish and she is Latin/American or whatever....she still could've sang in english !

                                                  Other than that, the Grammy's were pretty retarded! LOL I'll agree with some of the previous posts on here; I'll stick with my MTV Awards and I'll read who won in the paper next year!!

                                                              Ha ha, i watched it for like 2 minutes, one dide was like 'i'm glad to get one of these things' and that's all he said. Gee, don't get excited. I generally agree with what Slick said, but some people do like Macy Gray. I don't think she deserved to win, though - but that's my personal opinion - of which I am entitled to.

I rarely get to see any of the concerts that they do around my area cause I'm so fuckin broke all the time But the last one I went to was in Fayetteville last year and it was tight! Wound up going home with a golfball sized knot on my head from being hit with a bottle of Faygo
