Senior Web Developer
A leading entertainment company is looking for a highly-talented web developer with a broad knowledgebase, positive attitude, and excellent problem solving skills. We operate many high-traffic websites and are looking for a developer who can help us improve the systems that run them. These systems include web-based content management systems, video delivery platforms, mobile applications, financial reporting suites, web analytics and tracking systems, and more. The ideal candidate for this position is skilled in both backend and frontend coding, and has the ability to develop full websites utilizing various backend technologies from design mock-ups. Additionally, this candidate has experience researching new technologies to solve problems that he does not know the answer to.
Applicants must be able to show PHP/MySQL-based projects they have completed in the past that are currently being used. Extensive experience deploying code to end-users, tracking bugs, and optimizing web applications for high-traffic environments is required.
This is an in-house position located in Los Angeles during regular business hours.
Requirements:
5+ years of PHP5 (object-oriented experience is required)
MySQL (knowledge of query and database optimization)
2+ years of Linux administration
HTML/Javascript/CSS/AJAX best practices
Version control with Subversion
Apache and Lighttpd server environment
Ability to work using existing code and upgrading it
Strong attention to detail
Some Photoshop knowledge (ability to convert PSDs to HTML/CSS)
Ability to work well in a team environment
Experience with the following is preferred:
SAML experience
Wordpress
Flash, Actionscript, Flex
Wowza Media Server (specifically live streaming)
Content Management Systems
Ecommerce platforms and billing integrations
3rd party API and Web Service integrations
Affiliate marketing systems
Experience with Jquery, Prototype, or other javascript library
