It's not a machine gun. It's a .308 (7.62 mm) semi auto rifle, and apparently he only fired one shot.
Meanwhile we really need to step up the boar hunting because they are becoming a real menace to crops, livestock and people throughout the southern USA.

I might be Old and Tired, but at least I don't support a whiney cunt
Saw the news story, his reason for the hunt was to fill the freezer
had a long discussion about this on FB .. yeah right He's a member of the hunting club, they use vid cameras to track and they bait the animals for the kill. Real sportsmen they are

hmmm, so setting up deer/duck blinds, wearing camo must be unfair too I guess. Like was stated above, they are a menace, whatever it takes.

give them all the mmr jab, or pour fluoride into their drinking water. Hey presto 30 years time they'll all be too autistic to reproduce, or, have their brains fried, or whatever it is that fluoride does

It's open season on wild pigs here in California, and no limit on how many you take. For eating, I thought that the smaller (and younger) the pig, the better the meat... I've eaten suckling pig a few times, and it's amazing.

WTF does this have to do with "American style"? 99% of hunters here or anywhere hunt the old-fashioned way with single shot rifles and the usual tools available.
Also, anyone bitching about this (JFK, lucas, etc) had better be a vegetarian and not getting *their* meat from a disease-ridden and inhumane mass-production hog/cow/poultry farm.

Went goat hunting with my compound bow when I was a youngster. It was a bitch to kill it, took 8 arrows and I had to track it down a few times too. Finally killed it and had to drag it to a main road.
Looking back.. wish I had a rifle or something along those lines. Gave most of the meat away and till had meat for days.

I agree 100%. Only fucking asshole pricks think that hunting with anything more is a "sport".
At least they're getting out and killing their own animals for meat with everything that entails, which is more than can be said about 99.9% of the public anywhere who just gobble down whatever from the magic food store without really understanding how it gets there.

On top of that, I'm curious how many have actually tried the "non-sport" of hunting. Then let's add to that again that the wild animal lives a much better life than any store animal. We should also keep in mind that most hunters also dress their kill. It's true, pork chops in the wild don't come on Styrofoam plates.

Haven to agree with you on that also. Depending on distance, it is no easy task to hunt with a rifle. Went elk hunting in Arizona, after winning a spot in the license lottery. To take down a large, tough, alert animal with a rifle is a lot tougher than people think. In fact, only someone who has never hunted would think that it's easy. Personally I was really impressed that this guy took down that hog with only one shot from a. 308. I have been hog hunting and seen smaller hogs take several much bigger rounds and just keep moving fast. Like you said. Try it yourself first and then express an opinion.

Just my two cents.

So people shoot animals *several times* and they run away and nobody even gets the animal? It just quietly bleeds to death by itself?
I'm not anti-hunting at all, I'm Canadian after all, but is this what really goes down?

A true hunter/sportsman knows where and how to shoot his living target. One quick dead shot is the only acceptable shot for them. Unfortunately not everyone has that intent or skill level.
Still unless someone is a vegan they should refrain from comment.
