I learned my lesson. I'm not gonna pay anyone upfront anymore. Maybe that person you know for 2 years is in need of quick money and will do the same thing. The only way to guarantee this won't happen is not to pay any person upfront.Comment

Also contact paypal, they will identify his IP address (propably he has used a common IP of his cause its hard to pay something with paypal logging from someone else)

Well from my own idiot perspective.. 1 of 2 things happened
1. This guy knew he was going to run with your money before you paid him
2. This guy realized that the job/deal wasnt as easy a lunch as you made him believe and he bailed.

You hired an unknown with zero reputation, while others with A1 reputations who do this shit day in day out gave you realistic prices.
You made a schoolboy error and it cost you 300 bucks.
I know it stings, i got taken a couple of times.

Pussycash had me for 1200 (And id love to tell folks how I got that back..it was genuis)

And explaining it again goes to show your even stupider than we gave you credit for.
You hired an unknown for a job that requires SOME technical proficiancy.
You based the price on what it took YOU to do a set number of grabs and then came up with a figure that the job was worth.
You never worked with this guy before so you dont know his speed. (I assume that any job i give to my junior will take twice as long than if i did it myself /three times if its a task she has never done before). So your 20 hour ideal.. has just turned into 40 hours.. maybe 60.
Then factor in your grunt is by moral and ethical standards due a 10 min eye break every hour if its constant VDU work.
You failed by hiring an unknown with no history/references
Your hourly rate was very generous
Your estimation of the job duration may have been inaccurate
You ignored some very reasonable offers from established service providors
Your pissed off and anyone who disagrees with you is an prick....

Yes, i got screwed over. It could have happened to anyone, no matter the job, the duration of the job or the amount of money being paid.
You seem to be in this thread for one reason only and that is to attack me and try to convince people i'm an idiot who gets screwed over all the time because i don't know how to do business.
Let me tell you something. I've been working online for 10 years and hired MANY people. For jobs ranging from 50 bucks to a few 1000. As far as i can remember this is the first time i've been screwed over. So all your blah blah and theories about this and that mean shit. They mean absolutely nothing and show you are wrong and just here to take me down. And you are failing.
