I use ICQ but only because most everyone else still does but I use Skype more and more these days. I hate how long ICQ takes to load and all of their stupid ads and endless russian spam. Skype works better for the most part but I don't like the interface.

Oops I forgot. If you're a mac user try ADIUM instead of ICQ. It combines all the networks (ICQ, MSN, AIM etc) into 1 client that works flawlessly and is much lighter than the ICQ client.Comment

Any "Single" messenger program is completely retarded in this day-n-age. There are DOZENS of messenger programs out there, for ANY operating system that let you login, control, and chat via any and all the messenger types out there skype/icq/aim/yahoo/msn etc. You can have a single tabbed messenger window open, with three chats happening all at once - one on icq, one on msn, and one on aim.
Moving to skype just puts you five years in the past. If you really wanted to move forward, you would jump onto a real program.
