Does someone KNOW Smart Tube Pro? I need to hire you.

I've been trying to get Smart Tube Pro fully functional for months, so that I can open a site.

The person who was working on it with me - has been working on it since *early June* and can't get it done. It's close, but there are continual problems.

Is there anyone who KNOWS Smart Tube Pro inside and out - especially the video encoding - who can spend a few hours working on my installation and get it working for me?

Please, only people who can look at this thing and get it working - no one who's going to be "tinkering" or "testing" - or who "might be able to figure it out."

ICQ is below. Thanks.

Well, he's been trying to get it up since june... I'm sure he's frustrated and looking to get it taken care of.

Plenty of people here looking for work as well, so no problem that I can see

How are you doing Mike? long time no speak!

That's exactly right. I wasn't trying to piss anyone off who would have to actually go through the torture of seeing it posted several places. Sorry if it's really that painful to see the same title in a couple of different places.
But I assumed that there aren't that many people who would be able to do this - and I don't know where those one or two people hang out - so I wanted to make sure it didn't fall through any cracks in the board.

I'm doing good except for my poor orphan pay tube
It *has* been a while! How's life treating you?

I feel your pain, because I am having the exact same problem. Jack Sparrow (formerly MrFrisky) on here has mentioned he has the people for the job, so I am contacting him to see what I can do...

Thanks...that really does make me feel a lot better just to know it's not only me.
If you (or he) has anyone, I'd obviously appreciate it very much. Thanks

You can contact Marko from Dlxer.com he knows how STP works, don't know if he has some time and if he masters the video encoding but at least he really knows how it works...

It's a thought, I guess - I know he knows it as far as graphic integration, not sure whether he knows video encoding with it. That's kind of the path (the graphics/integration guy who promises that he can do more) that got me into trouble the last time so it makes me a bit skittish.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Just a thought for consideration. I use TubeX jmbsoft[dot]com/software/tubex/ and have been very happy with their product and the support I have received. Jeremy has always responded to any of my inquiries within 24hours.

The reason I mention this as a suggestion is because your willing to pay someone to get STP running.. TubeX is only $65 and as far as I can tell does everything STP does and potentially more. Their coding is all PHP and it isn't encrypted meaning you can modify it to your liking. They will even install all the software you need for $29.95. From there it is pretty much plug and play unless you need something a little more custom as far as the video processing.

I'm very familiar with FFmpeg/Mencoder and haven't needed to tweak any of the settings within TubeX. It worked perfectly right out of the box.

The only negative I can think of is TubeX displays a small link at the bottom of every page on your tube site for their site. It is just a link to the TubeX page that sells their software not another porn site competing for your business. Non obtrusive and from what I have read can be removed if you pay a fee.. The amount of that fee I'm not sure.

Just an idea. Start with new script for $65 plus $29.95 installation of all software needed or hire someone to get your current script running??

Thanks...Jeremy does good work.
But unless I've missed something, TubeX isn't a paytube - I can't have a full paid members' area, etc. --- so I don't think it fits the bill for me.
If I'm wrong I'll be happy to take a look at it --- even though the site I built is sort of complicated and I think that re-setting it up under another script would be an additional hassle which might - or might not - be worth it.
Thanks for the suggestion

I don't see why it couldn't be a pay tube site. I'm not 100% sure what your trying to accomplish but TubeX offers the following capabilities according to their website jmbsoft[dot]com/software/tubex/

# Create user accounts
# Limit the number of videos a user can view each day
# Limit the amount of bandwidth that a user can consume each day

To me it would seem that you could set up a system with many different possibilities.

#1 Users have to register before viewing any videos.
#2 Limit the # of videos each user can view
#3 Set an allotted amount of bandwidth each user can download

I could be wrong but I'm thinking from what I have read in the TubeX forums you can set a limit either #2, #3 or a combination of both for general non registered viewers. Once they become registered (paying) they aren't limited to those limiting thresholds.

I'm not 100% sure how these features work because I don't use them but based on the claims TubeX made that made me purchase their product I can say they lived up to what I expected.

Visit the site and Send Jeremy and email asking him if his software will do what you need and how complicated it will be..

If you don't mind tell him Kevin from Mount Equinox sent ya ;)

Thanks, I'll poke around some more and then ask him - I thought I didn't recall, though, and just looked again without seeing any features that involve integration with billing companies or paid membership options.

it wont let you integrate any of that stuff, the limitations on tubex are there to make sure peeps signup to the tube and you can get newsletters with offer out. for paytube, you'd have to use thrid party software in order to protect the members area. STP does it out of the box. im no pro at stp else i would have taken the job (yes i could tinker with it but as you state youre not looking for that ).

Mechbunny got a paytube script as well, konrad is very good with support and with the integration of it all. might be worth to look into that one for sure.

What problems are you having? I had my STP site up and running in 24 hours. Don't the STP people install it for free?

I might be able to help you.

Encoding codecs and libs are part which is usually be setup by hosting support / admin. Since we do managed hosting too we know how to properly setup all prerequisites for STP video encoding.

Yep, that was what I thought about TubeX.
Thanks for being straightforward about tinkering vs. fixing

Thanks.
It's not installation or running. It's been installed and running for months.
It's not displaying videos properly - when you upload videos with different width/height, it inserts black bars everywhere to "make it fit" instead of sizing the video to fit the window. I have one big set of videos that look like you're looking through a small window to watch them (but when I upload them to YouTube as a test so people can see what I'm talking about, they resize and display beautifully).

Goodwill (in brief emails) says "there is not function to remove black borders" - Godsmack says "it's an ffmpeg problem" - but I'm not even sure if either one has looked at the way the videos are being cropped in STP - so I have no idea what to believe

Hi - the prerequisites were all set up fine, and Bepe did the installation many months ago. And the videos are encoding "fine" - just not with proper display (in my view).
The problem is that it isn't doing what I need it to do and no one can/will say "here's what to do" or "Here's what has to be done, I can do it for $XX" or "STP can't do that."
That's what I"m looking for.

I hadn't thought of that, actually - it's not a bad idea but since everything else on the site is working, I'm afraid I'll end up screwing up something that *is* working

OK, so I've had my first response from someone who says they can "fix it."

They say their business is doing tube and tgp sites but they won't give me any references...

I show them samples of the problem and they say that it's easy to fix....

They say that they have to change settings in STP, and that they're very familiar with STP...but they can't tell me what page of the admin the settings are on...

And they get offended when I won't give them access to my admin.

Is it really me, or is the world crazy?

If it are just some settings, they don't need access. They make you a small tut by e-mail, and you can do a small payment. Thats ALL !

Is it really me, or is the world crazy?
Yeah I wouldn't let them in nor pay them anything without references or be able to tell you details of what needs to be done, too many scammers in here.

The problem is that it isn't doing what I need it to do and no one can/will say "here's what to do" or "Here's what has to be done, I can do it for $XX" or "STP can't do that."
That's what I"m looking for.
If you want we can take a look, just drop us email.

I appreciate it - it's taken care of, though. Thanks and will look forward to seeing your "add-on" package for STP.

If you still need help, contact masterut.

He spent a few minutes with me on icq - and as soon as I showed him what was going on - he immediately knew what the problem was, and told me how to fix it. My graphics/integration guy and I then spent 20 minutes on it - and poof, it works like a charm.

For Godsmack and company - no, it was NOT an ffmpeg problem. As I had told you before, ffmpeg works fine on the machine for two other tube scripts that aren't yours. I suspect that if you'd just taken a few minutes to actually *look* at the site, you would have seen the reason for the problem as well.

For the outsourcing guy who insisted it was a settings problem and that if I just gave him access to my admin, he could fix it - no, it was NOT just a settings problem. There was more to it than that - and masterut diagnosed it within a minute just by looking at the public pages.

In a nutshell, it was a display issue with the size of the player and the sizes of the encoded videos. We changed the default size of the player and the encoding parameters and all is well.

I hate the whole rep thing and I'm glad it's gone.
But if it was still here, +rep to masterut. I'm impressed and grateful.
Thanks also to the people who posted suggestions or support

What kind of plugins are you developing?

I'm considering moving away from STP so I can have features I think it desperately needs.
