Sadly, a lot of what we do has to be reactionary due to the fact that we want to allow as many people as possible into the board with the hopes that they are part of the industry and will make our advertisers happy, as well as making those who do business here happy from a networking and business stand point.

For those that are clearly surfers this will be easy to take care of, for those that are on the border, it will be tough. In the end if you want to play here and do business, (which is one of the major reasons we should all be here) then you may have to deal with this and work with the mods to prove who you are.

If I were someone who didn't post much, but did a nice chunk of business here, I would have zero problem if I was asked to prove who I was and what I do.

Sure I agree there has to be a balance. It does seem a little short-sighted to want to exclude anyone that doesn't work full time in the Adult Industry. I mean, if you're marketing directly to consumers and not b2b, wouldn't you want to have at least SOME representation of your target demoraphic available as a resource? Sure, if someone's just here to cause shit period, get rid of them. However, I'd argue there are at least some examples of people that while not in the business, aren't hurting anyone being around.

Again Gideon is a good example. I've never really seen him post shit just to cause shit. The guy's obviously very passionate about what he believes and all his fair use and yada yada. Personally I don't agree with much or most of what he says, and I just skip reading it. Robbie on the other hand can't help but get his granny panties all tangled up in a bunch everytime the guy posts. Instead of realizing that Gideon's not actually trying to harm him and just accepting they disagree, he has to constantly try to change Gideon's mind. When that doesn't work it breaks down to bullying. Yes that's exactly what I said, bullying. Just read the way he responds, it sounds like a frustrated school yard bully trying to show just how bad he is. It's ridiculous but at least comical to read.

You don't have a clue as to the majority of folks at the conventions. I've met and done business with some very smart people in this business. The last few shows have been dead as hell...but when they were happening there was a lot of money being made at them.

Most of the affiliate programs, hosting, billing companies all post here. I think it would almost be virtually impossible for someone to be active or have been active in the industry and not have done business with someone / company here at least once. Bought / sold a domain, hired a designer to do a banner, something.

Any promotion I did was on my own, shot and edited everything on my own, and my wife and I did the site design and management on our own. At that point, I didn't know shit about affiliates, and never had any. We had our own adult merchant account through Woodforest back in the day, I hosted through Blue Gravity, which I've never seen mentioned here on gfy, domains I bought through Blue Gravity. We did our own banners, etc.

Now, we had a run in the phone sex biz, and as I mentioned, my wife and I are now doing work for other phone sex companies. During our run, I did buy content from Stefan @ Amazing Content, and from Paul Markham. Also from Matrix, Ounique, etc. I relied heavily on Ounique for content back then, so my purchases from Stefan and Paul were sporadic, and I doubt that either would remember me as a customer. Stefan might more so than Paul, but even if they did, what does buying some sets of pics from a content provider really prove (especially since the domains they were bought for are offline)? A surfer could do that...
