    ICQ down?

    Haven't used my pidgin client in a while. It's not able to connect to any of my ICQ accounts.
    So is ICQ currently down?

      No, ICQ is up. You may have the issue where you need to manually input the server. login.icq.com I think.

                          In pidgin modify the icq account and in the advanced tab uncheck "SSL"

                              After you do, email a friend and ask him to ICQ you to verify it's working.

                              I had to remove my list and re-add it after finding out it wasn't working for days
                              dead.

                                      ICQ is on the warpath against 3rd party clients it seems.

                                          Yes, that's what it was. It was showing aol as server for some reason. Don't know why the configuration messed up.
                                          I installed the latest version and the problem was fixed.
