    NATO agrees on missile defense system.

    Seems as though they're going through with building a missile defense system for Europe and North America. What do you guys think of this?

    Personally, I think it's a complete joke, so the rich can get richer. What exactly are we fearful of, and who exactly is going to begin shooting ballistic missiles at us? Are we worried that the terrorists in caves have high-tech, modern missile silos from which they're going to launch a large cruise missile campaign against us, or something?

    I'm confused... what a waste of money, time, and political power.

          They use to have several missile defense bases in Europe many years ago...I served with the NATO forces in Germany, so this does not seem like anything new.

          I know there were quite a few shut down years ago. The Base I was on is now closed and has been for many years. All that?s left are empty buildings and the perimeter fences.

                  Fucking idiots. Iran just tested it's missile system yesterday by launching one off. You don't think that can reach a NATO country? LOL.

                      Well, of course there's shit hole countries with the capability of shooting missiles, but that's extremely unlikely, nearing the point of impossibility.

                      Ok, for one, the cavemen with box cutters in Afghanistan don't have missile silos, so no worries about ballistic missiles coming from them. Second, just imagine what would happen if Iran shot a ballistic missile into the heart of Berlin or Paris. Ain't going to happen, because everyone knows their country would have a new government within 3 months if they pulled a stunt like that.

                      Russia, China, or India aren't about to start lobbing missiles around. It's a globalized world, so doing so would plunge their economies into the shitter. So who exactly is going to be throwing around ballistic missiles?

                          NATO is kind of like a pack of cowardly kids all hiding out behind a Big Bully who's terrorizing the school yard. They all stay behind the Bully, and reluctantly agree to hand over a portion of their lunch money so they don?t get beaten up as well.
