Most fashion trends I can handle, like ugg boots, those stupid wrinkly skirts from Paris Hilton, etc., but "flats" make you look retarded!

Wear them with jeans if you have to, but seriously enough with wearing them with skirts or leggings, they make you look mentally handicapped or your ankles 2x what they should be. Id rather see sneakers or flip flops any day over these.

Those are slippers. For girls still in their princess stage. The real silly ones are the ballet flats with bows on the top. And since they provide no arch support they're no better for a woman's foot than heels.

Sandal flats can be sexy, especially if she wears red toenail polish.

I don't mind them much. Some women can pull off those looks, others can't. A good looking woman is a good looking woman, no matter what she's wearing. Thus the phrase "She'd look good in a burlap sack" was coined some 500 years ago.

Then again I'm from Canada, so it's okay I think this way. :D

(I think meaning since there's 2-5 feet of snow here 5+ months out of the year there aren't a lot of women wearing "slave sandals" out in public)

I don't know. Perhaps those times are over. I have heard stories about how some women wear uncomfortable small shoes from young age, so that their feet stay small when they grow up. Some consider small feet beautiful.

Im from Montreal, I live in flats. Wouldn't have it any other way. I have about 80 pair of shoes in every color there is.

The lack of heels isn't the problem. There's plenty of non-hideous footwear for women out there that don't have heels (sneakers for example). I guess ballerina slippers and gladiator shoes are today's bellbottoms.
