I think that to be honest that people like our queen as for many years she was young and very very attractive.



In fact I would sugest that many UK films had her as the 'image' as the star untill around the 60's. A lot of british films top actresses sort of refelected the queen, while in holiwood the image was a larger more round, big haird lady.

I can see why she had the apeal she did have.

The problem is, that 'modern' image she had sort of went and it was replaced with some sort of silly pompus rubish.

Around the 60's you no longer see films refelct her. But tv still doess. In the tv world there is stiff the pompus rubbish, but that too is attact.

The Beatels sort of (I would argue more replublicans).

Then in the 70's punk just shuned the queen. AAs I posted we had the sex pistals who sang god save the queen.

We also know that the queen during this time ran short of cash, and the goverment bailed them out (relucantly).

The 80's they re-invented themselves.

Both with Diane and Fergy you had two princesses. You had two fairytale dreams you could sell to the public.

But with both weddings ending, and fegy got riped off with the divorce getting only £70k or somthing while Diane got over £10 million.

Now we have the new wedding.

I suspect if I took a pic of this new girl out onto the street a lot of people will not know who she is. That is my point. Its not an interesting wedding. Its a two people who have been on and off for ten years. I suspect the wedding will not last.

This is simply a celeb wedding rather than anything else.

The problem is I suspect the goverment are hoping this is a new diane. And hope the public will all be excited. There is talk of making it a bank holiday.

They are hinting also that the press do not give her a hard time.

What I suspect is, somone will break ranks and be nagative, or better still somone will have at least one story on her, mabe some nude pics. Do not forget she is almost 30. Chances are she has a past.

Now if the public back the negative response you have huge problems.

This whole thing could backfire.

I would sugest that fegies two doughters would in the press be more popular and people more interested in them getting wed.

But we also live in a new era.

In america you have a sort of new royal family. Thats the clintons. Popular in many countries. Just look who they wanted when they arrested those 3 (or was it 2) women. It was bill clinton. And the media loved the doughters wedding.

You also have also the current president. His wife looks like a princess, tall, slim, confident, gracfull, with two princesses.

The problem in the uk is all that vceromony now looks rather silly. with all the guards and night hoods (that now mean nothing at all).

These days if you give the goverment a few pounds you are made a 'sir'. Or if your on tv more than a week, you get an 'obe'. It means rather nothing now.

I had any questions (radio 4) on today. they were luke warm over it (the wedding). In fact they said that they are already fed up of hearing about it.

And this is my point. At the end of the day, I suspect the public do not realy care.

Some old ladies might. Some people who make some old tat to sell as promo might. But will the public care.

And will they even remember her.

You must also remeber that when charlse married chammila, no one cared. Yet the media for years thought people would be shocked. But they did not. I do not think people even noticed. In fact I often forget they are wed.

just listening to cbc here in canada and they are saying just a stunt because of the economy.

I do not mind the upper classes doing it. It sort of tradition. Such as parlemt with all the rules of how to walk in, bow to the chair, sit with your feet behind the lines and so on.

What makes me sad is when I see the public doing it. Little girls bowing down to strangers. Strangers who simply live in large houses, with servants, and lots of cash, just due to birth/family conections.

There are old ladies right now sat in front of a low power fire, in fear of the bill. Sat cold. Eating cheap food. Worried how they can afford to live. People who have gone to war for this country or indeed worked in the UK while being bombed.

Yet we have these select few who can live in luxery. And when the money runs out, they get another lot of cash from the goverment.

Yet people got upset over mp's claiming 20p for a chocolate bar. Yet, seem happy for these people to be getting millions. Not to mention the bill on top for running costs (ie security).

On Friday they anounced they were having to close old peoples homes, yet on the same day they say the security alone for the wedding could be £80 million.

But yes it makes me sad when I see little girls bow down to them. It makes me sad as to me that says that little girl must feel less than the queen or other member of thar royal family.

For any Royal lovers in the uk. Let me ask you this. If need be would you put your life on the line for them. Would you go to war for them. Would you exchange your life and families life for theres (say they were held by terrists, would you say take me and my family as I am worthless compaired to a meber of the royal family). After all being a royal suporter, thats what your suposed to do. Its what people have done for years in the uk. People have died for them. So if you would not die for them, are you realy a suporter of them?

There was a saying about leaking bad news on days when there is a huge story as all the stuff that would hit the headlines for weeks, vanashes into the back of the paper.

I suspect this wedding is going to backfire.

In fact I thought it was just people like me who are pro repulicans but more I ask people more I find most are not interested.

The only people who seem pro are the elderly and the mentaly retarded.

The reason being thats when they belive the UK economy needs a boost.

In truth the UK is going under.

The Euro counties are in a mess, such as Irland and Greece. France and a few others are in problems too. Basicly Germany is doing well. The rest are in bother.

But England is in a mess.

Ironicly if things improve many will be in a mess due to at the moment with morgages repayments are so low, that people are paying very little on there repayments. Once things improve and there payments go up, then we will find people not being able to make the re-payments.

We gave gas firms this week putting up costs by almost 10%.

We have local councils wanting to give people HUGE car parking fines so they can get money.

Firms cannot afford to hire people as they cannot afford to pay min wage.

People cannot get jobs as even a job on min wage such as a night watchman you now need a licence (£300).

Police are getting too much power and now just arrest you if they feel like it. Last week one officer who on cctv was seen assaulting a drunk woman, on apeal the judge said she may have hurt herself later, so he got away with it. Another raped a drunk woman, but got away with the rape as it was said no evidence she was forced into it, though she had passed out, but he did get told of for doing it in police time.

I read it will be a national holiday in the UK

the thing is, england for a short while was a republic. I belive during that time we got universities. People forget we were for a short time a repbublic and during that time we were far better off. So all those twits who think the world will end without them, are clearly wrong.

Actually its not just that day which is causing the problem. Its going to be hugely expensive because the week before we had a long weekend (two bank holidays) and now this weekend is the same - ie bank holiday Friday and Monday.

Thus you have 4 holidays followed by 3 days of work and another 4 holidays. A lot of people just took those 3 days off and flew abroad. So we end up losing a lot of productivity.
