Simple fix, I just don't fly. If people stopped flying the airline would have the rules changed.

I will not go through that scanner.

When it comes time for groping I am going to make sure I mention that I'm gay, and apologize in advance for the boner I may pop for being groped.

I bet they won't go anywhere near my junk.

To chime in regarding the X-Ray backscatter scanners, the risk of going through such machines isn't necessarily the nominal amount of radiation, but the potential exposure to much higher levels in the event of a malfunction...

Readup on the Therac-25 saga ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Therac-25 ... it's a warning of what can go wrong even with seemingly well designed machines - not the only case either, since there have been numerous other x-ray diagnostic machines that have experienced nasty problems.

Point is that radiation dose can't be guaranteed except by hardware interlocks, robust design, and much testing - it's likely the X-Ray backscatter machines the TSA are deploying are built by the lowest bidder with little testing in regards to overdosing...

A related issue is X-Ray concentration ... while the TSA touts the X-Ray exposure as being very low, which may very well be true, that neglects to take into account that exposure is likely not going to be uniform - some portions of a person's body may be exposed to far higher levels due to the design of the machine, one's individual body shape, and their position and time in the machine.

There is no way in hell that I would subject myself to the bullshit one is now required to go through to fly commercially. I really do not understand why anyone would subject themselves to it.

I saw a woman on TV that had two daughters ages two and eight or there about. She would not allow herself or the children to be radiated so she and her two daughters were subjected to the pat down.

She said her genitals were groped as well as her breasts and the two daughters were subjected to the same groping. She said her oldest daughter was traumatized by the experience. She said she felt like they had all been sexually assaulted. It was the first time all of them had flown and she said it would be their last time to fly.

plane crew included, they always talk down to people, don't smile, just plain assholes...

absolutely ridiculous that we let them do this to us. They already have the plans in place to do the backscatter scan AND then a full pat-down for each person immediately after, this is the next step they will be rolling out. They will have the same things at all court houses, and government building, and they will have mobile backscatters at all concerts, and then they will wonder why we all have mutated kids in 10 years from now.

On the one hand I dislike my liberties being infringed on, on the other hand I dislike all the douchebags that keep whining about it when they obviously just want to be a pain in the ass. Seriously I don't care who feels me up so long as it's all in good fun!

It's not that simple. Even if you chose to opt out and leave the airport they keep harassing you (just read the post).

As of now, yes. One may opt for very hands on pat-down instead.

You must not be aware then that some of the screening procedures have been extended to interstate train and bus travel as well. With that said, it's true that screenings for ground transportation is often less common, semi-random, and less invasive. But, make no mistake, taking ground transportation is no guarantee of not being subjected to similar treatment as airline travelers.

Freedom of movement is a basic right Americans have that's increasingly being infringed upon.

Some may chime in arguing that airlines are private ... well, perhaps to some extent, but they get federal subsidies both directly and indirectly. Moreover, most all airports themselves are publicly owned and/or funded, and the TSA and air traffic control systems are government operated. Plus on top of all that, and this is a biggie, the air space that planes travel through belongs to the government; the public.

Ron

Im all about travel safety. I prefer to get to my end destination alive in one piece, than not at all. If given a choice I will choose a pat down. When he touches your crotch, just thank him for making you cum.

Regardless of ones motives, I appreciate the fact that there are people who are willing to challenge the system at the expense of not getting on the flight. I simply cant afford to do that.
