I got my XBOX Kinect yesterday...and I can't tell if I like it yet.

Has anyone else picked up the Kinect yet?
I've only played fighting game and the sports game...and so far it seems ok, but it still seems a bit awkward.
Any thoughts?

I had a Wii and i'm looking forward to get a Kinect, but will wait for a few reviews..

Yea, the Wii is super cool...and it's a bit more responsive than the Kinect.
The cool thing about the Kinect though is that it detects your entire body and you dont need any controllers at all. The technology is pretty incredible, but it just seems a little weird at first.

The wii is more responsive than the kinect, and the ps3 move is more responsive than the wii, I will get the ps3 move soon enough

Yea, the PS3 Move is very responsive and has a lot more capabilities than the Wii. I just think that the Kinect might be on the right track...I need to wait for a few more games to come out so I can test it's full potential.

I dont think it was meant to target the lazy gamers, I think it was meant more for the type of person that might want to be a bit more active while still enjoying the comfort of their own home. Im pretty sure there wont be any games released that are targeting true die-hard gamers...I dont think the Kinect is that advanced yet.

I've had a Wii for years, and while I like the motion aspect, a lot of times I long for games that use a traditional controller. Because of that, I'm not in a hurry to run out and buy a new console for it's motion sensor capabilities. Kinect might persuade me, because of not using a remote and it's full body movement detection. But, from the reviews I've read so far, they say Kinect is glitchy, which isn't so bad on the simple games like Kinectimals, but for more serious games, it could cause a problem. You also need a shit-ton of space, since you're not just moving your wrist around. I've already seen videos of Kinect-accidents...lol.

As Paul&John said, before I get a Kinect, I'll wait a bit to hear more feedback. As for the PS3 Move, it may be more responsive than the Wii, but I already have a Wii, so I don't see the point. If I get a PS3, it'll be for the regular hardware, not the Move.

i'm a lazy gamer, plant my ass in a sofa and curve my spine and grab a controller and veg out. I go to the gym daily so i get my exercise and social interaction there, and see real ass and titties. If i wanted to dance i go to a club.

The kinect is a nice distraction but it kind of seems more of a dis-kinect from society. I guess all is good in moderation, especially if done with family and friends. (now if you are playing kinect by yourself maybe you should have yourself measured for a straight jacket, i kid lol). I have to admit seeing dads giving accidental bionic elbows and moms accidentally laying smackdowns is quite funny.

I think the kinects main goal is to eliminate the controller, for not only those that want to be active.. but for those that just "Don't get it" .. My wife for example, My boys and I have 2 Xbox's and play more games than we watch TV by a long shot, When it comes to my wife though, the controller might as well been dropped from outer space.

I was watching her TRY to browse netflix the other day and it was absolutely hilarious, she's got NO fucking clue, therefor will never be a gamer.

There is quite a learning curve to using these complex controllers I guess, even moreso if you haven't been playing and evolving with them since the NES.

On that note, I have zero interest in the kinect at all, when I game, I wanna sit on my ass.

imo...

Kinect blows wii away in my opinion and it is only going to get better when the next wave of games hits.

Not responsive? Mine works amazingly and only becomes more responsive as levels advance. I find it to be more responsive and better graphically than wii; indeed, the graphics are stunning even with the limitation of being "first wave".

So i have a WII and an XBOX 360, how good is the motion tracking on the PS3?

Has Anybody tried all 3 and have any reviews on them?

Need another Blue Ray player and was thinking of getting a PS3 and was wondering if i should get the motion package over the basic model.

Advice?

We got the kinect a few days ago. LOVE it so far. It is very responsive. More then I thought it would be. I wanted the WII till i learned about this and started watching some youtube clips on it. I love that you dont need controllers and looks like they are going to be coming out with some cool games.
I was playing some of the mini games last night and there is a ping pong one where you have to hit as many balls as you can as fast as you can. That sure gets your heart pumping. It's going to be great for people with kids and great for little get togethers. I can't wait to get Dace Central and try it out.

i think kinect or ps3 move shouldnt even exist.. they're stealing credit of an idea nobody believed at first, wii came had great sales now they want to copy. I do agree ps3 move is much more responsive than wii.. but guys ps3 move and kinect will never have the huge library wii's got
