Businesses won't come back until they have better terms in the US than somewhere else. Plain and simple. Why would they?
No businesses, no jobs. No jobs, no economy.
However, to be competitive, taxes would need to be substantially reduced; what they are talking about now doesn't even come close. But that would mean they would need to cut spending as well. That is not going to happen.
So where does that leave us? We're fucked.
Partisan class warfare instead of objectively looking at the cause and effect relationships and deciding what is best.
Then again unless we have an objective means of deciding what is best for everyone people are just going to vote for what is best for them at the expense of another.Comment

tiger, thats a cute chart.
do you know how big the circle is for what those top earners PAY to the government?
you obviously don't or you'd understand the embarrassment of your position.I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.Comment

oh, and tiger, your chat is a lie. I'd be curious to see where you pulled it from.
considering the top tax rate is 35% under bush, 39.6% proposed by obama, 4.6% of 1million is NOT $103,835 nor is it $97,486
but I guess it looks good when you're perpetrating class warfare, eh?
here's a number to consider.
a 35% tax on $1mil is $350,000.00
Thats a $350,000 payment (per year) for the same services you're probably getting for free.I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.Comment

Oh lord... like removing the tax cut would give people no skin in the game, hahaha... much like it did through the 90's or the 40's to the 80's or after Reagan tax cuts were removed.

so your suggestion would be for that person making 1mil to pay the same dollar amount as the person making 50k (since they are receiving the same services), or you have a different idea?oh, and tiger, your chat is a lie. I'd be curious to see where you pulled it from.

and isn't the 39.6 "proposed by obama" actually just a going back to the rate it was before the cut?Last edited by cwd; 11-11-2010, 11:45 AM.Comment

dear idiot, you're talking about the 47% who don't pay taxes. not the tax cut.

And a direct comparison to George W. Bush is a good thing? LOL. What Dubya did or didn't do doesn't matter anymore. He is gone. His game is over. Now we "move forward" with Mr. Obama.
I, for one, would love to see someone stand up and say "we need to stop fighting, we have things to do, enough is enough." I don't care who says it, just someone. I hope it's him and not the next President, we need to start today.

Oh so your statement is even stupider? So now your saying people that do pay taxes, but get a rebate on federal income tax, don't have a skin in the game?
Damn, you are one pathetic shit stain American.... truly, you may be one of the most pathetic people I know.

Pro American is an idea not a person. For me it is the vision of the founding fathers of the country. When a president goes against that vision, I will have issue with them.
What politicians say they will do and what they actually do are rarely the same. Also, majority rule (democracy) does not insure individual rights or liberty. Sometimes the majority will even vote to violate the rights a small select group because it is of benefit to them and they believe their needs are more important than another's.
I totally agree with you the IDEA of America is awesome. Its sad to me what the place has become. The american people voted for the president.
What does that have to say about the current american people?Comment
