the "masses" are soft marshmallows.

even if the government was handing out free torches & pitchforks in the welfare line, they'd still be too fucking lazy to use them.

You served in the military, didn't you? Would you have followed orders to bomb Americans in America? If not, then your point is meaningless, unless you think people like the Koch Brothers know how to man planes and hi-tech weaponry, which they likely do not.

This post has clearly gone off on a tangent, and I am guilty for helping it off the tracks.

In the end, it is the same old argument... Should a supposedly powerful and civilized country provide healthcare for its people, or should it instead, provide profit to a middleman?

You think healthcare is Socialism? Then the politicians should not receive it either...

https://youtube.com/watch?v=MWuM2iVVtaA

It is unfortunate there is an Obama logo associated with the above clip, as Obama may have meant well, and his plan certainly offers more than decades of his predecessors, it still rewards the fucking scumbag middlemen.

I looked at the numbers, and I decided it would be in my better interest if YOU pay it for me. I hope that works for you, as that is the system that we are currently in.

By the way, do you live in NJ, or the UK - someone's hiding from something it would appear.

If you are from the UK, then why do you comment and compain about everything going on here in the US, and if you live in the US, then why do your 2257 links point to a UK address?

Inquiring minds would like to know... who is A Dozen Dicks anyway?

I took an oath to defend this country from it's enemies, both foreign and domestic.

mobs of people trying to overthrow the government qualifies as a domestic enemy.

however, i am no longer in the military and thus, no longer held to that oath.

today, I look out for #1, because I understand the golden rule. He who has the gold, makes the rules.

you don't have to like it, but not liking it doesn't change it.

adapt or die.

Just put away the amount of money you would spend weekly / monthly in an account, and when you need something done, work out a cash price, and pay for it!

That's just fine until you get involved in a serious accident or when you get older and need expensive medication.

You're a intellectual child, who writes like a child.

What would you say the republicans have promised? Are you claiming they have not said they would produce jobs by cutting government spending? Are you claiming that the only thing they can cut is _not_ entitlements for the poor and lower class?

What will they cut then?

I ask, knowing you won't even try to answer, you'll just be petulant and ad hominem, like always.

Va2k 11-10-2010 01:39 PM

I tell you what, I thank god every day I bought my own from Anthem, I would be dead today if I didn't! They have helped with the cancer, the heart blockages and everything else! They first refused to pay for a pet scan without a cat scan which was stupid but after I did the cat scan they approved the pet scan! That is where they found the huge tumor in my stomach! Yes I pay out the ass for it, but without it I would be dead by now!

yes, life will suck for people like you, leeching off of the system but smaller government and lower taxes helps ALL productive members of society whether they be poor or not.

leeches however, will feel the pinch. :thumbsup

So far so good, but I think your rates will be going up continuously, so please budget accordingly. Nice avoidance of the questions by the way. :thumbsup

Nearly 59 million Americans went without health insurance coverage for at least part of 2010, many of them with conditions or diseases that needed treatment, federal health officials said on Tuesday.

Story here...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40098643...h-health_care/

I'm one of those 59 million. Have not had insurance for over a year and guess what? Saved over $1,500 which I've used to help my family in their tough times.

My brother hasn't had insurance for several years. Went to the emergency room for meningitis or some shit about 5 years ago, hasn't paid a dime for it. My father came here from Arkansas to get major surgery done, turned into at least a few major surgeries, and AFAIK never paid a dime for that either. That's what your insurance/tax dollars are paying for.

Not that I believe people should be leeches off the system, but I myself am a young healthy 28 year old so honestly don't really need insurance.

Car insurance on the other hand is badly necessary given how people drive around here. :(

blow me you childish twit.

I've been in this business almost as long as you, never taken a fucking dime of government money, been completely self-employed since 1985, paid off a house in the country and socked money away from this business, and am still in it after hundreds of other blowhards have gone bankrupt or run away in shame.

I probably own more guns than you, and unless you're a farmboy and an avid hunter have killed more animals with those guns than you, and spent more time in the woods than you.

You're a petty thinker who has yet to say a single substantive thing about politics on this board, and as far as I can tell you haven't said anything particularly interesting about this business either, altho I admit I dont bother to look.

And once again, like the coward you are, you behave like a pussy and refuse to make substantive claims, refuse to state actual political positions, you hide behind the skirts of your ad hominem.

Pussy.

The bottom line with health insurance is this. Health insurance is designed to cover you in the case of catastrophic illness or trauma. it's the same philosophy surrounding your auto, homeowners, or any other insurance along those lines. Do you file an auto insurance claim when you get a tune up? Need some new carpeting in your house? I bet you don't claim it on your homeowners insurance. Why people are unwilling to invest in their own health is amazing and dumbfounding. Flat panel TV's, $4,000 to pimp your ride..no problem. But when asked to give Dr. Jellyfinger a $100 after he checks out your orifices is just too much. The philosophy that the American populus is supposed to foot that bill is a bunch of horseshit.

You know cut out the middle man?

In Czech we have insurance companies. But they don't make anything like the money US ones do. Also the Government under write the companies I think. Best ask Eva. :1orglaugh

In the UK it goes direct to the Government who pay for hospitals and such like.

There's nothing wrong with a company taking over the system, in fact there's a lot to be said for it. But they have to be strictly controlled. Profits have to be limited, rules have to be in place to cover everyone.

In an industry that's shedding people as fast as the porn industry I staggers me so many think a safety net isn't required. Also anyone over 50 needs to think long and hard about their future. I'm retired now and don't pay. The money I paid over the last 45 years now covers me to my grave. It wasn't an insurance policy. It was an investment policy.

Think about the last statement before you shoot it down. :1orglaugh

There are many people that HAVE insurance and when something catastrophic actually happens their insurance company axes them. Do you know how easy it is for them to find a reason to cancel you? But no one seems to believe that this goes on until it happens to them or someone they know.

LOL LOL LOL How can a country call itself a superpower if 1/5 of its population doesn't have access to proper health care?

This is by far the biggest shining example of why the USA is failing right now. You are supposed to by the United States of America, key word united. Is it really so bad to have to pay for another American's health care? Usually when people need medical attention they aren't just doing it to waste time/money. Stick together where it's needed I say, show solidarity as the United States of America and stop being so withdrawn from each other.

I was admitted to the hospital 4 years ago after going into the ER with a high grade fever. Long story short, hospitalized 4 days. I had no insurance, yet received the best medical care possible. At the end of it I met with the business office and they set me up on a payment plan. It took me a couple of years to pay it off but I did pay it off. They even allowed me to set the amount of my monthly payments. My point? Everyone in this country already has access to health care, it's just not FREE.
