It's stupid that racist posts are banned. You never solve issues by sweeping them under the carpet. If people want to make racists posts and generally make an ass of themselves, better to let them do it and expose their self rather than force them to stay quiet and hide the fact.
Nobody finds it the least bit ironic that the leading message board for an industry that exists only because of the right to say, publish or create something others might find distasteful actively suppresses free speech?
Who gives a fuck if what somebody has to say is hateful or in poor taste? Just so long as it's not an attempt to incite violence, we shouldn't be trying to censor any speech period.

Whether people realise it or not, the whole issue is about whether you're born gay or if it's a so-called "sexual preference" (a simple choice). They are the pro and con sides.
On the one hand, if it's a simple choice, then it's never a hate crime, and it's never disciminatory, and there's never an equality issue.
On the other hand, it you're born gay (like you're born a color), then it's a hate crime, it's discrimination and they are forced to live an oppressed life without the rights guaranteed by their country to equals.
This is the keystone of the entire issue whenever there's a perceived civil rights issue about homosexuals.
There's been 2 issues in the national news recently that brought it to mind. The beating of the transgender girl in mcdonalds and subsequent question of hate crime or not, and a bill in tennessee to ban mentioning homosexuality in sex education classes (author of the bill says, predictably, "why should we allow discussing someones choice?". Again, hinged on the same point.)
