CopyMotion Offers High-tech Tube Site Anti-piracy Solution

    Featured on XBiz today.

    ---

SAUSALITO, Calif. ? CopyMotion recently launched a new service designed to automatically locate and remove copyrighted videos from adult tube sites.

The service, CopyMotion Adult, uses proprietary computer vision technology to find videos based on how the video content appears to the human eye. According to the company, this type of technology has existed for years in the mainstream industry but has only recently become available to the adult industry.

CopyMotion said that visual matching is the future because other methods are too failure prone and only scratch the surface.

"Finding your videos is often the trickiest part," CopyMotion CEO Matthew Nolan said. "Copyright owners may locate a few videos using text searches but uploaders quickly learn how to name uploads to evade this method. You also find a lot of content with the original logos cropped out or obscured by new website addresses. Our technology easily handles all these cases."

The video copyright protection service features an email alert system to notify copyright owners when their content is found. There is also an incident tracking and resolution system that helps remove infringing content with a few clicks.

CopyMotion?s list of tube sites scanned consists of 25 listings, and is growing, the company said.

When asked about the cost, Nolan said, "That's what's really unique about CopyMotion, we've brought the cost of this technology down to where it's affordable to everyone in the adult industry, not just the largest studios. This is absolutely key to having a real impact and turning the tide on copyright infringement.

"With tube sites we are seeing what happens when bandwidth, storage and hosting limitations begin to fade away," Nolan said. "I think the future online landscape will require that content producers embrace some sort of copyright protection solution to safeguard their livelihoods. We've seen it in mainstream movie and television industries. They've continued to prosper by making it easier and safer to purchase content rather than to pirate it."

Here at CopyMotion we are bringing some much needed competition to the previous monopoly Vobile/FSC-APAP had on the high-tech copyright protection field.

You can get started right now - protect 30 hours of content for only $345!

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Looks good. Its great to have more solutions to piracy and copyright infringement.

Now you just need to find a market thats not full of dysfunctional shit talkers that will actually implement solutions rather than just bitch and blame and point fingers.

Per 30 days yes, that's our standard billing period. And there is no contract requiring you to sign up for multiple billing periods just to try the service.

Was there a reason to exclude the soundtrack as part of the matching? That's one of the elements of a "video" that changes the least during recompression and visual alteration. Was it because of IP held by others?

Not trying to be argumentative or anything, I'm just curious.

We do not provide that service. I have seen a number of other companies offering such service though. That is definitely something producers should consider when developing their overall copyright protection strategy.

We don't charge per title/video like our competition. We believe this unfairly raises the price for producers with many shorter videos. The level of service usage is based on the hours of video submitted to CopyMotion for ongoing copyright protection. Hours of video refers to the sum total of the lengths of all the videos submitted.

So for the same 30 hour price you could protect

                        * 30 videos averaging 1 hour in length each
                        * 60 videos averaging 30 minutes in length each
                        * 90 videos averaging 20 minutes in length each

Hi Nautilus. Yes rotating protected videos is possible. There is a small fee for that however, it is covered in detail in our website's FAQ in the billing section.

Do any of the tube sites you listed filter out known anti-piracy bots?

I don't know if this is even an issue (it is for services that scan for pirated mainstream music / movies) ... but if many adult tubes do filter IPs for such reasons, then the following question is applicable...

Do your servers scan from just one / few IP ranges? Or from many diverse IP ranges?
