Horror? The show didn't scare me once. The axe scene was gag-worthy and overdone for the obvious effect. The characters are just so predictable so far. It just felt like I'd seen it play out a couple dozen times already.

It's derivative but its above average TV stuff.

Did anyone else think the escape from the tank was a missed opportunity for awesomeness?

How about using the grenade? Or using the tank's inside front mounted 50 cal? Or the one on top? It just seemed kind of lame, then I saw that a woman wrote the episode, and it all made sense. No offense ladies, but that's just not your kind of stuff to be writing.

they both came out around the same time. I think its coincidental, and both writers just needed a way to skip past the why and how of the outbreak, and get to the survival part. A coma is the perfect writing device to accomplish that.

No doubt the grenade will come into play in a later episode. They put too much emphasis on that scene for them to not take advantage of it at some time. (pretty sure he stuck it in his pocket, if I remember correctly)

Was kinda hoping he was gonna try to start the tank up though. It's probably the first thing most people would have tried to do, even if they had no idea how to drive one.

Agreed, but having the same intro in 2 different zombie movies in the same year is well past coincidence.
