Some Linkspun trade stats (quality control data).
I like to look at the overall trade quality that are users experience to judge how well the tool is functioning. In the beginning I always figured that anything over 25% request -> to live trades would be an acceptable number.
Currently, as of this posting We have a total of 1288 Webmasters, with 37545 Pages that have initiated 121,935 Trades. 38,852 active ,accepted or awaiting links, approx 32% of all trades. 64091 declined or stopped trades, approx 52.5% of all trades. 18992 in limbo request status, approx 15.5% of all trades. Factoring in spam, non niche trades, language barriers, strategic deployment preferences, webmaster practices and having over 1200 traders running their own strategies, I would say 32% of all trades going active is quite good. We can also tag minimum 25% of the trades in limbo as soon to be active which would easily bring it up to over 35%. Perhaps some of the new features will help bring that trade index quality up higher and still allow for the amount of requests to go out. Maybe we should incorporate this type of 'trade index' on profile pages, how many requests a user sends out that turn into active trades, and come up with a particular trader index number based on their activity. For example if a guy sends out (or gets) 2,000 requests and only has 40 live link trades, we can assume something is up compared to a guy with 2000 requests and 600 live trades. Anyways, just a little post about where we're at at www.linkspun.com and what our users are up to.

How can I edit my sites to restrict pr trades? I set them to 0 or low when I added them. Now I want to change the pr restrictions to something higher.

When you request a trade you can restrict the PR of the trade on return (what the other user gets to pick from).
To hide them from being requested ON you can only hide them right now. There is no button to 'hide from all pr0 trades".

I thought there was away to limit who can request a trade from me based on PR. i.e. I'll only accept PR3 or higher.
I remember setting something like that up when adding new sites to my profile. However, I can't seem to find away to edit those values. |

I'd like to see the number of denied trades go done. I'm actually not surprised to see it at 50%. Some webmasters think their blogs are holier than thou.

Not sure, but I doubt it, the sorting/search function as it is now allows you to find anything pretty quickly, there is some stuff still being done for it, but a specific search by PR isn't one of them, at least not yet. And google not giving an actual update in so long may be more indicative of this becoming a useless feature, I guess we'll see how it pans out. Right now pages are still updating everyday, we are sending out PR change alerts everyday so tough to say. True enough.

Nor I, I'll be sending out an alert this weekend to users looking for some testers for the mainstream version. There won't be any bells and whistles on that, that we don't already have at linkspun, will be the same tool but catered to that market with a few tweaks as it grows.

It is on Drocds list when I get him back to programming, but I over simplified it to myself and when the last batch of features/fixes went out, it was something that was complicated enough that it had to be set asside so other stuff could get added. Another issue is the amount of spam this is going to create, if you can suddenly do all your trades with one request, the site wont be as busy, and guys spamming now will be spamming to the power of 10, the amount of requests sent will go up and the quality of them all will go down. This is a great feature for an advanced, trusted and experienced trade partner, but let lose on the entire community it will be harsh. There is lots to consider about adding a feature like that, it's not so cut and dry as I wish it was.

you can not expect people to provide pr3-4 backlinks to the system when 90% of the people only have PR0-1 to offer back. who wants 5-6 new links put up with identical anchors to get a trade going? i also do not see what this has to do with spam. the point is for the recipient of the trade is to request backlinks from multiple links with different anchors and different target urls, not to get multiple trades done at once. this would remain one trade. you want a link from my PR4, fine. in turn i will want 3 PR2, the first one linking to my domain A, the second one to my domain B and the third to my domain C. thats not complicated to implement at all as it is only marginally different from how its done right now |

Ok gotcha, yes we also wanted to try to do it on outbound requests, so you could stack (request) 5-6 different urls/anchors from people on your outbound requests as well and the entire function sort of got wrapped up all into one thing.
Setting it up for return requests stacked should be available, I'll make sure it gets done on this next batch, I was supposed to do them last week but was away.

I know you're getting bombarded with requests and what not...
Have you thought about using something like this? http://uservoice.com |

I don't mind requests, that will keep LS current and the best tool for all involved.
