No doubt. I have spent many, many minutes in Google's sandbox so I know the rules of the game. I did a mainstream website for my cousin and got it ranked so high so fast it was yanked from Google for almost a year. He wasn't too happy with me. Even funnier, he tried to call Google to complain. So it was worth it.

There's too many variables that go into whether or not a backlink is going to be of any real benefit to be able to say. All you can really do is get the backlinks, ping the pages or something so that google will find them quickly and then wait and see...Comment

Hardcore sandbox. It eventually got indexed and now ranks pretty well for his industry (pressure washing) in local searches. It was actually indexed after about 3 months, but just never showed up in any searches.
