My Washing Machine Broke - FUCK!!!

My washing machine is making a grinding sound and its not spinning.

I never knew a washing machine has a transmission, clutch and other shit that makes it work.

Gonna try to diagnose the problem to see if I can fix it.

How hard can it be?

if no one see's it, like it's in the garage, ask about scratch and dent specials, you can get a really good deal that way

If you had a home warranty they could fix it. they replaced my $1,000 washer for the $50 deductible. The home warranty can be used on any house, it covers A/Cs and pretty much every appliance except stuff like TVs. America Home Shield is good but there's alot of different ones.

I just lost the heat on my dryer...

Took off the service panel and the thing had about 1 inch layer of lint over the entire inside. Vacuumed that shit out and was hoping the sensor for that problem was going to make it all better... not... Perhaps the lighting mechanism for the flame?

I was hoping a good manual shaking of the machine would work but nothing.

I might be getting this Maytag Centennial but I can't find a store that is carrying it.

There should be a peephole you can uncover. Plug it in, turn it on and peek. You should hear a small click, see an orange glow, then hear a louder click that opens the gas valve. This is where fire comes in.

What brand is it?

I thought I had to get a new washing machine. I dropped off my washing machine to a local "mom and pop" all American appliance store. For 25 dollars they diagnosed the problem and it turned out it wasn't bad. The fix was an easy fix and that my washing machine still has a lot of good years left.

Total cost: 96.00 bucks.

Seems like things are starting to turn around.

For that price it sounds like all they had to do was replace the drive belt.

That's a pretty cheap repair.

That's a pretty cheap repair.
They included the price of the diagnostics, parts and labor all into one.

All they did was replace the motor coupler with some kind of kit.

I think you just hit on something there...

As to why not just go buy another one? Because technical people like to know the who, what, why and how something is working, breaking or being able to be repaired. Some people hire a programmer, others fix it themselves in the time it took the former to dial.
