I agree with what he said in general, but aged domains help you in building seo networks.
Use a new domain and point 100+ links to quickly it and it will be either sandboxed or penalized, which is not the case with 5-10+ years older domains.

there's news in there somewhere? i always thought the age of the page was based on when it was first indexed, as opposed to actual registration date. Then again, if you have a 1994 domain it has probably been indexed since the beginning of Google time in the first place.Comment

Makes sense to get age of domain based on when it was first crawled or linked to.
That is good info to know if you buy expired domains. Because all the dates are reset. But the SE stats for the domain are still there.
