Everyone keeps mentioning the design but on real amateur sites I converted better with stuff like this. Looks like a site the girl made, 1:20 raw is fun.

how long ago was that. I did great with sites designed like this back in 99/00 etc. when I was doing the design myself. Amateur still works great, but it needs to look amateur 2010 not amateur 1998.

I would bet $5 that any new design anyone here gave her would make her conversions drop considerably. My best converting pages were geocities, ugly banners and all.

Also crapy, amateur pages promoting a solo cam girl as an affiliate is just slightly different than an amateur look for an amateur adult membership site. We are not really disagreeing, I am a big believer in making a site look amateur, but she would do better with something a little better than what she has now.

I agree... people love amatuer sites but at least designed properly. This is the year 2010. We have our own designer... our sites may not be reality kings but the content is professional & the design is not my own, its put together by a designer not geocities :2 cents:

I sold off all my shit around 2 years ago, they still used those crappy pages and still converted better than most. During my last few years before I took a hiatus I got pissed off at amateur girls using normal designs and built my own tours for several of them. When comparing ratios the actual amateur look won by miles.

As for saying it's different with cams, nah. While you might have promoted the ifriends site with crap pages of girls I promoted the girls using crap pages of girls. As long as the surfer thinks the person in the pictures built the site they are sold. This isn't true for every surfer but it's true for those that love the real amateur niche which is exactly the customer she's going for I would reckon.

The only downfall to converting better than everyone else is the picky affiliates that want a flashy landing page to send their traffic to. Those are the same people that are happy with 1:3000 ratios and make a total of $500 per month even though they've been in the business for 5 years.

I'm not saying a cleaned up 'amateur' design wouldn't convert but it's a delicate line you're walking when you do this. Some of the magic is lost the instant a surfer thinks that this is just another girl that some dude took pictures of, built a site for and promoted.
