super solid insight right there.

the only thing i would add: people- do not confuse carbs with vegetables & fruits.

The only fruit I eat is blueberries, in pre-workout shake.

Vegetables, I go for anything green/fibrous.

I got some good workout routines, send me an email if you want any.

i have to say +1 on this as well.

people buy into the weider principle approach to bb seen in magazines and hyped by 275 lb mr. olympias that train one body part every 7 days and stack 4 steroids.

the truth is and it's confirmed by most every strength and conditioning expert out there- compound exercises done 3x a week get results.

i.e. squat, dead lift, bench press, pull ups.

as heavy as you can 5 sets of 5 reps. and write it down.

where do you get your micro-nutrients? vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega 3s, etc?

Omega-3 and Omega-6 in flaxseed (also where I get most of my fiber).

Vitamins and others, daily dose of GNC Mega Men Sport. Seems to more than cover everything one would need daily.

Of course I still want to try your product, but can only bring it down here in Nov :)

Same here. I'd get faster results if I stopped restaurants, as I'm sure those days I eat over my 500 deficit (since it's hard to know exactly what's in their preparation and portion sizes vary), but I'm very happy with how it's going along.

I don't feel deprived of anything, maybe beer but whiskey/vodka is good enough for me there.

Congrats boss, keep it up. I have gone from 6'1" 380lbs 1 year ago down to 275 as of this morning. Still have about 50-55 lbs to go, but I/m feeling so much better and wearing all new clothes.:pimp

thickcash_amo 10-27-2010 03:38 PM

congrats! I am thinking about cutting out carbs to shed off a few pesky pounds that I can't seem to get rid of.

ketogenic diet, it's principles are basically what all the low carb diets are based off of. it's just ultra low/no carb.

In brief:

The body burns glycogen (from carbs) for fuel. By restricting the source of glycogen (carbs), once your body has depleted its stores, the next place the body turns to for fuel is fat.

So, by keeping carbs at ultra-low levels (I personally choose to only consume 5g - 10g a day) and providing enough fat, you prevent glycogen build-up and induce an awesome fat-burning state called ketosis for very extended periods of time (some cultures in the past did this for their entire lives).

Thank you. :) And in regards to your comment about fruits and vegetables, that was one thing that put me off the only low carb diet that I looked in to. I can't recall which one it was, but it was pretty anti fruits/veggies.

Sorry, thank you too! I had not refreshed and didn't see your reply before I posted.
