I believe the normal privacy price at Moniker is $4. If you hit up Bari she can probably lower it to $2 for you.
other options:
Internet.bs is a good registrar with free privacy and really great pricing.

Is the registration price higher to compensate? A .com at moniker, minus privacy, is $8.99
OP, be aware that Moniker's domain privacy occasionally fails (WHOIS shows your real details, sometimes long enough for domain archivers to capture them), and that they'll release your details if someone bitches enough to their abuse department. No need for a court order, what's that?

privacy at name.com is NOT FREE anymore. There's a coupon code for free privacy but I believe it's for the first year. Normal pricing is 1.99.

$7.49 is the first year price. Domains renew at $8.35.
Costs are cheaper in the Bahamas and there are no taxes. Domain privacy doesn't really cost the registrar anything, they use it as an up-sell to make more money.
Internet.bs is highly recommended on the domaining forums, and I've used them for a while with no issues.
The interface is nice and clean and simple, reminds me of name.com or namecheap. Seems to be less buggy than the namecheap backend. Bulk tools are amazing, support is good.

Speaking about domains I think for every webmaster is better solution
to have its very own domain reseller account for example at
resellerclub http://www.resellerclub.com/pricing . Notice that they have
free whois privacy for every domain. You are supposed to have deposit
which can be spent on domains, so if you have domains that regularly
renew it's the best bet. I didn't use them but I'm considering to give them
a shoot. Anyway I should spend at least $200 on domains so why not.
If anyone have had experience with them please share with us.

Found that out a few days ago when I received a spam email from a hosting company offering to host my new private WHOIS domain registered at Moniker.
It's the first time it's happened to me with Moniker, so I went and re-read their Privacy Policy before I complained, but after I'd read it I didn't bother to complain.
No point.
As you say, don't rely on Moniker for strong privacy.Comment
