NYC was amazing. I had so many negative stereotypes of the city prior to going there, that I was overwhelmed with how magnificent the city was, and how friendly the people were.

Several days while there I was at a Design conference for my mainstream business, but on my tourista days, we did some fantastic sightseeing, and great dining.

I apologize for not meeting up with you, but my six days there were a total whirlwind of activity.

Just by happenstance, I was able to get tickets to see a taping of Late Night with David Letterman my first day in town (Hillary Swank was the main Guest).

And on my final day in NYC, I finally was able to make my pilgrimage to Strawberry Fields in Central Park and see the John Lennon memorial. It was a very special moment - I cried...

NYC does indeed rock - and so happy you had a good time (and that my fellow NYC-ers were nice to you)!! But you come from San Francisco way, and we New Yorkers think of SF as NYC West. LOL

No worries man - traveling can be insane, jam-packed with things to do. And worse, you plan all this stuff to do but forget to factor in how tired you might be from all this.

I was in Strawberry Fields yesterday. The weather is gorgeous now, Indian Summer (hope it was nice for you). I meet my friends there cause everyone knows where it is and we head out from there. Great to wait and hear the bands play, people leaving flowers. What makes ME cry, tho, is how John Lennon's favorite cafe is now gone, a place I had been going to for almost thirty years! Horribly sad, people cried when it closed, terrible. Now it's a fucking hardware store.

Anyway, the Dakota is still there. LOL

It was explained to me that the "ga" version is a sign of brotherhood or friendship. The "ger" version is a sign of disrespect or racism.

And this was by some dudes that are very proud of their race and may or may not have been involved in gang-related-dealings.
