We all have seen enough torrent sites get sued. Sure - maybe a handful they will be able to collect money from but most of those 3000 suits will just get the site shut down and whoever ran it in some random third world country will just pop up a new site.

Child support is basically inescapable / no way out other than paying as agreed.

On the other-hand, uncollected civil judgments can often be reduced / wiped out for one with little to no assets in bankruptcy.
