The public panned it. Republicans obstructed it. Many Democrats fled from it.
Even so, the session of Congress now drawing to a close was the most productive in nearly half a century.
Not since the explosive years of the civil rights movement and the hard-fought debut of government-supported health care for the elderly and poor have so many big things ? love them or hate them ? been done so quickly.
Gridlock? It may feel that way. But that's not the story of the 111th Congress ? not the story history will remember.

. And it is a good point he did make gay bashing a federal crime. But this DADT back and forth makes everyone forget.

Let me get this straight, out of every fuckup Obama has been responsible for, for the better part of 2 years, you think DADT will make or break his re-election? Are you braindead or just retardedly emotional? The ONLY thing I really hate is when someone doesn't do what they SAY they're going to do....The Don't ask don't tell policy that was struck down by the courts was just reversed due to the Obama Administration petitioning the courts...Now why would someone want to not only go back on what they say they want, but ACTIVELY DO SOMETHING to go back on their word?...I can only think of two reasons:
1. Obama wants to pass it through Congress, and then take the credit for it.
or
2. He's lying.
Why in the FUCK would you turn your back on a large voting block like that when your approval rating is already in the toilet? And it is especially bizarre when all he had to do was NOTHING to make it happen...
It's over after this....there aren't enough niggas in America to carry him through the next election...It's over....I've never been actually pissed off about anything Obama did until today.Greed is Good

That would be Bill Clinton, a Democrat
And sortie is a moron.
The dollar will go "way up" only in your dreams. We'll have an economic collapse before any American dollar goes "way up".I dont care who they make president as long as the dollar goes way up.Last edited by The Demon; 10-21-2010, 11:57 AM.Greed is Good

Yeah all gays who join the military wanna peak at guys in the showers.. Do you really think that?
I was in the military and not one of the chicks in my unit was worth peaking at! BTW there are better ways to sneak a peak or get laid than join the military ..

I love the generalizations. It's always "all" or "none". You're right Holly, using your logic, "all" homosexuals are able soldiers willing to die for their country.

My logic was to poke fun at his generalization.. get it? most people join to learn a trade, pay for school or etc.. except for gays according to him

Yeah I agree with The Demon, I don't think DADT will make to much of difference if any.. there are more religious rights out there and they will love this!Comment

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

You know, I would really like to approve of something that Obama is doing, just one thing, is that too much to ask for?
Why can't gays serve in the military? It's not like they aren't already there! First openly gay person I ever met was in the Navy, we're still friends, that was 1981Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. I happen to be the "religious right", but I also disagree with homosexuality for practical purposes, not religious ones because that's not my place, and I'm in favor of "traditional families". One would have to be a moron to claim homosexuality is as natural as heterosexuality. However, I would support equal rights for homosexuals in terms of civil partnerships, not marriages. If they gave homosexuals the rights in partnerships that heterosexual couples have in marriages, the whole "marriage" talk can die down.
Also, I don't oppose DADT but at the same time I give credit to anyone who wants to fight for their country, regardless of their sexual orientation. But you have to understand that it is up to the soldiers that are currently fighting. If they genuinely feel insecure around homosexuals (and that's fine), then the policy shouldn't change. If the policy WERE to change, then drill sergeants would need to be more strict with who they allow, and that's capable soldiers.Greed is Good
