Keeping Sex.com away from Porn would be the best thing they can do.
Time for a change.

So much you can do what that domain in Mainstream.

Amazing how one of the most expensive and sought after domains has such a dark cloud over it, and pretty much since day 1

There is plenty of shit you could do on that domain that is mainstream, some might work. But the monkeys in here saying porn wouldn't cut it don't know a damn thing about shit.

FYI

making it mainstream sounds good on the surface, but with a name like 'sex' it will still have to dance on the fine line between R & X ratings to make sense. that cuts your potential customers by quite a bit.

That's like saying that we can't teach "sex education" in schools because
it's called "sex" and the course must be R or X rated.

The word is "Sex" not "Fuck".

Your sex is what you are, as in male or female.

I mean, where do you live where your drivers license doesn't have the
word "sex" on it?

.

you can't build a business off of all the webster dictionary definitions for sex. try applying it to the real world.

'sex' as in gender: what are you gonna do? show a picture two people and say "this is a man, this is a woman. the end"?

sex education: probably one of the better ideas... but, for it to be informative enough it's gonna have to take a Love Lines or Sue Johansen approach. Once you start taking about dildos and orgasms, you've crossed into the R to X rated realm like I said. and who will advertise at a site such as this? yeah...

and once you decide to add a community element to sex.com you're really asking for it.

yes we teach sex education in schools. and there are plenty of parents who don't even allow their kids to learn it that way. they surely aren't gonna allow a site called sex.com to teach them.

Very interesting purchase... don't expect the domain to be one for porn.

This time, it may well work....

Exactly. Doing the same thing would be failure once again.

You are hung up on hardcore sex and seem to have no clue that sex
can be a softcore subject that isn't "dirty".

Hardcore sex is selling at an all time low.

you missed my point completely. i'm saying that women's magazines or whatever do not fall into the category of 'sex'. sexy? yes. do they discuss sex? of course. but they wouldn't name their magazine Sex or classify it under sex.

you're right - it doesn't have to be hardcore. nowhere did i say it should be. i'm not hung up on anything.
