No matter which party you favor or which policy you support... shouldn't both sides be able to offer a candidate who is 'not a lying retard'?!Is that too high a standard to set?
I'd love to be able to feel 'ok if my choice wins I'd be pleased, but if their opponent wins... they are a qualified intelligent person and will do a good job even if I don't agree with their Point of view on some issues.' Is that really too much to ask? |

As it is supposedly a "government of the people" I have always thought the most fair scenario is for ALL government representatives, from the smallest, all the way up, to be decided via a lottery system. Also, very short terms. Kind of like jury duty, but for political positions.
Hey Bob, looks like I'm the governor for the next 2 years, please water my plants while I'm gone. |
You'd think that with all thats being said about how there's all this anger and such, that it'd be more than the normal completely expected mid term loss for the party who holds the white house.
Hell, even THAT is in doubt now. Can the GOP hold out and actually win back something? I was much more confident on election eve that they'd take back the majority in congress than I am today. |

If Bush's worst mistakes were the two wars that cost well over a trillion dollars, how are any of Obama's mistake worse? Forget the fact that the Bush family are criminals and you still have no idea why you are fighting over there. |
